Same, however, while in my top 3 and I am glad that my Thursday work schedule allows me to watch upon release, my favorite KZbin disc golf content is easily Tossing Plastic Check it out y’all

As a relatively new player still (just a couple months), enjoy seeing both your more beginner friendly content, but also you throwing the disc. Caleb seems awesome and his arm is crazy, but for like your Flight Numbers Don't Matter series, his arm reflects very little of the flight my little baby arm gets from them! :P Anyway, really enjoying your content!

Thanks for another great video. Although I'm now older than dirt, I just discovered disc golf a couple of years ago when I stumbled across it on KZbin. I'd never before heard of disc golf or Ultimate Frisbee. I'd only used Frisbee's to play catch in the park when I was younger. I actually started playing about 20 months ago and found an Innova 5 disc starter set that came with a small bag.. The included bag was really the only reason I chose that one. I believe it came with, among other things, a black, star mako3. If it didn't come with it, then it was the first extra disc I bought. Can't remember now. I still have, use and love it. It's the straightest flying disc I own. It's one of my all time favorite discs. I have a Fuse, but for some reason, it doesn't fly as far for me. It may just be psychological, but it seems "bigger". A good, similar couple of discs I like are the Wombat3 and the Leopard, both from Innova. I had a brief love affair with G-Star plastic, but, if you're like me and also have a love affair with hitting trees, it beats in too fast. I found that Star plastic feels almost as good and is really durable. I've bought quite a few discs since then and use this channel to help research a lot of them as I can't afford either the money or time to just buy and try. Thanks for all you do.

I'm 65 and been playing for a while now. It is a great sport for us older people too. Not hard on the body and difficult enough to keep us interested in improving. I hope you (and I) keep playing for a long, long time!

I started playing in the mid 1980s on a course designed by Ed Headrick. My first discs were an Innova Aero and an Innova Aviar, both are hanging on my wall. Thanks for all the content you provide as you are on of my favorite channels I enjoy watching. Keep up the great work.

Love the Mako3 for most middy shots. To me, the 5/5/0/0 means that whatever angle I put on is what it stays on. I use a Hex for my get out jail shots (such as skip shots). The Mako really doesn't like ground play much, but the Hex excels at it.

This a cool video. I just started playing back in Sept 24 and I found a Mako3 and it has been my go to disc for a reliable shot. So much so I thru my first Mako3 into a water hazard I immediately bought another one. Still hoping they dredge that pond. :P I love my Mako3

First midrange I bought after losing my starter pack DX Shark in some sticker bushes (many years ago) was a DX Cobra I picked up at Big 5. Highly recommend that disc for beginners because it's so easy to throw, glides forever, has a very minor fade, and is cheap.

A fella that I work with was selling discs, and I picked up three discs for myself and three for my wife. Mostly Daredevil Discs, An Albatross, Wolverine, Moose, Owl, Beaver and a single Kastaplast Gote. I still have all the Daredevil discs, but I donated the Gote to a disc swap in my club.

My first discs were Innova DX bought at Sports Authority back in the mid to late 90s. I still have my 2 Aviars including a Two Chain, 2 Sharks, a Cobra, and a Viper. I didn't purchase any new discs until 2022.

My first 3 discs were an Innova Eagle, Cobra, and Birdie. Still have them, but throw none of them although I like the Eagle. I really like the Mako3. I have been really liking the Westside Disc Warship and Lone Star Disc Texas Ranger for that neutral midrange spot.

Got a Innova starter set with Aviar, Shark and Leopard. Lost the leopard in a tree, used the shark for a while and switched out the Aviar pretty quickly. Retired the shark and use the Aviar for playing with my German Sheppard. Buzz is my go-to and I prefer my Claymore over my Fuse from Lattitude.

I mistakingly refer to many Innova discs as “blank3”. Wombat and Mamba especially. I had a Innova starter pack, as they were lost they were replaced by the Astronaut (big mistake), Mako3, Judge, and River. Still throw a Judge and occasionally a River.

I love the beginner friendly content. I found the Fuse to be great when I was first starting, and now is my go to for workable shot shaping. As a side note, I noticed you changed your recording set up. Curious as to the thought process as a creator. I’ve been working on my own channel, and am always interested in the technical details of content creation.

Makos in any plastic are very reliable. Some maybe have a little more glide. For beginners I recommend a light weight Panther. More distance potential.

I have a friend that is pretty dang good, and he throws makos forehand kind of a lot. Watching him throw the thing almost underhand and fly flat is one of the most mesmerizing flights I’ve seen. That being said, I’ve been playing for a year and a half, and it was the yikun tomahawk that was the first disc that made me feel like “I can do this.” Shit, it was the only disc I used tee to basket for almost 3 weeks. But…. First disc I ever threw was a dx leopard. It was gifted. Of course.

I got a Halo Mako3 this summer 175g. I'm not a power arm by any stretch, but I'm finding I have to start it on a decent amount of hyzer to get it to flip to flat and then it coasts a long, long way. Love the feel of the Halo Star plastic, I wish they made more mids with it.

MD1 is super similar but a touch more stability after the beating in period, at least the Mindbender does compared to a beat in Star Mako3
@jessebuck9019 сағат бұрын
@prattacaster haven't thrown the MD1, but I am becoming a huge fan of my MD3's. A little more stable and they don't like to turn at all even when powered up, but super straight flyers.

I started with a DD starter set back in 2016. Still have my Prime Judge and Truth. My Witness was a casualty of my first roller attempt 😂 Water on the left, plenty of room though, tried hanging it out left and getting it down. Got it nose up though and it never flipped. Faded towards the water and landed dry! Buuuuuut… the ground and water were frozen and it skipped off the ground, landed on the ice, and slid about 150ft to the middle of the lake where it was still water and plopped in. Gone forever.

I’ve been playing for only 3-4 months and the Mako3 was the first mid I got, and I don’t really like it, but it’s mostly because I’m weird and can’t throw backhand very well. I do everything except short approaches and puts forehand, and the mako3 just flips over and rolls if I give it any torque on a forehand.

Your flight numbers don't matter and plastic is in the details series are super valuable but the more I learn the more questions I have. Please, may I have a lesson on dome? I hear players talk about dome all the time and I have no idea how variable it truly is within a mold, a plastic, a weight range, a category of disc, and so on. I have heard that more dome = more glide = more turn but do the flattest and the domiest discs of a given mold feel and fly different enough that I need to feel like I'm gambling when I order something online? Also, could you give us your insight on the appeal of a flatter disc for forehand shots? My first ever disc was a star Roc I picked up as a clueless Dick's shopper because I dug the holo foil stamp. Happy holidays!
@SixSidedDiscs14 сағат бұрын
Generally, speaking people expect more glide from domey discs, basically more distance, i’ve heard some people say they are more over stable and some more under stable, so I don’t know that there’s anything concrete there. As far as flat for forehand discs, I think it’s about feeling in your hand, if it fits your grip, for me personally flat discs tend to feel better on forehand, but there are some exceptions, my Latitude 64 Rive is domey, but I like it for distance for hands, it might be more comfortable because it has a thick high speed rim

genuine question about the guy in pink that you have throw. it seems he throws great and very far! my question is, why he doesn't bend his elbow more in the power pocket? this is by no means a criticism, i wondered if its more of a ultimate frisbee technique or if there is some secret ninja sauce nobody is telling me! 🤣🤣

Regarding the pronunciation, nearly everyone gets this one wrong. The word comes from the Maori language here in New Zealand and is pronounced "mah-ko", not "may-co". The 'a' is pronounced as the 'a' in 'palm', 'bra', and 'father'. Just thought you all might want to know this.....
