To get the results, what lighting setup was used please? Something on a similar budget ?
@DeployJeremy Жыл бұрын
I'm honestly just using a 12" no name USB ring light with a softbox on it. It was $30 for the ring light and around the same for the Neewer collapsable softbox.

I am so impressed how well this looks for how inexpensive this webcam is! Obviously it’s not the winner as far as webcams go but it still is incredible how good it looks with some tuning

Yes, I have the Kiyo Pro Ultra now and that's the next one. Yes, that camera is superior, but I paid $21 (used) for the Lenovo on Amazon. It's crazy for that price. If it had 60fps, it would be perfect from my perspective

Thank you! And there's more to come with this webcam. 🙂 I'm actually working on a video now where I start with the Lenovo Essential FHD as the basis, then run its audio through Adobe Podcast to make it sound even better, then upscale it to 4K, then interpolate it up from 30fps to 60fps. EDIT: Just published kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHmZYZ-NgNqVea8

Same here. It's a much better camera and mic, with better/wider optics, too.

i have the same webcam.. but what i noticed is the picture quality is very very dark !! any settings that i need to do on my mac to fix this
@DeployJeremy10 ай бұрын
What lighting do you have? That's probably the fix, but to be honest I only tested it in Windows
@venugopaln82110 ай бұрын
thanks for the response Jeremy. i have a normal lighting , my desk is right next to a window and a tubelight on the ceiling.. @@DeployJeremy
@DeployJeremy10 ай бұрын
Well, the window next to could be backlighting your room. You might need some lighting pointing toward your face, like a ring light or something. Lighting is usually more important than the camera itself - that's true for any camera.

Thanks! what software did you use to fine-tune the camera?

I used the UVC controls called from OBS. But Windows 11 camera settings now should be able to do most of it.

Is there a setting that can alter the ultra-wide angle of this Cam?
@DeployJeremy6 ай бұрын
Kind of, but there is no Lenovo camera settings software that I'm aware of. Those settings on webcams in included software from Logitech and others are based on digital zoom. So, you can use zoom controls in Windows/Mac. Apps like OBS also expose this through Windows UVC settings - when you open the camera properties.
@Nirmalabhishek7306 ай бұрын
@@DeployJeremy Thanks again! I tried OBS but there was nothing to reduce the field view. The brightness of this camera is very low too and obs settings don't help at all there too, bc if you try to increase brightness more, it becomes unnatural, like a thin yellow film over the video..
@DeployJeremy6 ай бұрын
@@Nirmalabhishek730 are you using the camera filter controls or the camera settings accessed via the device properties?
@Nirmalabhishek7306 ай бұрын
@@DeployJeremy no no.. properties and then configure video.. where gain, gamma, brightness, exposure etc are mentioned.. I tried to adjust it, it didn't give me anywhere close to the natural brithness i had in my previous camera. For the context, I used a samsung phone camera as my webcam earlier. I used to use a key light and a fill light and it was enough to light up the scene. To soften the light I always used double diffusers on both the lights. Now in this webcam I have to remove those diffusers to have enough light but still it's nowhere near the natural brightness I had with my phone cam. PS: The default settings of your Lenovo webcam were different than mine and I have to have quite different levels than you to get optimum results out of this cam.
