Spyderco Paramilitary 2 Folding Knife 3-7/16" CPM-S45VN Black Blade, Black G10 Handles - C81GPBK2
The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 tactical folding knife has several changes over the classic version. The G-10 handle is narrowed at the end improving the ergonomics. The handle and blade have been profiled thinner; removing uncomfortable angles when in the closed position. It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket. They kept the same high-performance CPM-S45VN full flat-ground blade but they've also lengthened the blade's tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. Larger lanyard gives more options for carry.
Refinements to overall construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM-S45VN steel full flat black blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort.

For opening packages and super light duty tasks, yes, these are great. I live in the sierra Nevadas and use my knives for more than a blade ground like that can handle. I would carry a pm2 when I visit cities, because most flat landers give you weird looks and they get nervous when you walk into a rite aid with a big fixed blade on your hip.

It's absolutely one of the best EDCs of all time but it has a few minor drawbacks. The tip is not terribly robust, it takes up a lot of pocket due to the blade height, and the ratio of cutting edge to handle length isn't ideal. It's still an iconic knife that I love.

Now it does come with the cheap plastic ball cage and to much tension on the spring factory..But a simple part change and maybe 10 minutes of work fixes this. Then its absolute perfection and super fidget friendly.

@@roccoisfat3184 cruwear is very tough. It's a very balanced steel with about the same edge retention as s45vn. Cruwear also sharpens unlike any other steel in that it moves more easily and doesn't feel gummy while sharpening and it takes a very fine keen edge that can easily be stropped back. Plus it's only about $17 american dollars more then s45vn. Alote of people really like cruwear. I personally prefer 4V or cruwear for certain tasks and k390 or s90v for others. S110v is more costly and doesn't perform any better then s90v.
