Loved Spitalfields … not only for the food, but also the small shopping booths in the middle. And I concur … Borough was too crowded to really enjoy

As a Londoner, I'm so glad you showcased Spitalfields market. Everyone either does Borough or Camden market so its nice to see Spitalfields. I would enjoy the video so much more if I actually saw you eating and enjoying the food. That's the joy of food tour videos for me, seeing the host enjoy the food. Great content though, thank you.

Hi Clarissa Well im not sure what i was expecting out of Spitalfields Market, but oh wow was i surprised how much its changed in 10 years. An amazing selection of sandwiches, crepes, cakes etc etc They all looked great quality, and even the fries, hash browns etc had herbs and seasoning on them which shows quality and care to me. Its not pleasant, but i stood outside Spitalfields Market for 8 hours once on a Murder scene ( I used to be a cop) and we were well looked after with fresh coffee and treats from the then stall holders. Love this vlog. Chris.

I’d disagree with the labeling of Borough and Camden Markets as tourist traps in the video description…I’d instead describe them as oversaturated (both in terms of crowds and social media exposure) with some tourist trap-ish vendors (Borough: Bomba Paella, chocolate strawberries, Fish! kitchen….Camden: Yorkshire Burrito and Funky Chips). But I certainly agree that Old Spitalfields is the best of the three. My go-to is dumplings from Dumpling Shack, and a single cheeseburger at Bleecker. I’d again disagree with the assertion that Bleecker is akin to an elevated McDonalds….Bleecker Burger and McDonalds aren’t even playing the same sport. Bleecker shines brightest with their simplest burger, the single or double-patty cheeseburger. But hey, tastes differ. And of course every restaurant has some days better than others. A few of my other favorites at Old Spitalfields are Sud Italia for pizza, and Le Bab for kebab pitas.

Thanks so much for the comment! One of the best things about food is all the discussion that comes with it! I know what you mean about Bleecker. What I meant by that is that the taste profile is similar but made with way higher quality ingredients.

no I have l lived in Italy for 39 years porchetta is made from the whole pigs its sold at markets and fairs some times the whole bit between the sholudersand the back legs not often just the belly

Think its hard not to be cynical about food markets these days. Everything tastes the same, is hyped up on social media and you pay restaurant prices to eat your food standing on a smelly street corner. And then there's the tourists.

down the street from Spitalfieds is IMHO one of the best sichuanese restraurants in london - Sichuan Folk.
