I did not realize all of the articulations you could get out of a project sam patches. Your mod wheel usage was great.

ProjectSAM is pumping out GREAT value to the composer community. Their "Free Orchestra" packages are really way more than just your usual "freebie". Also, I think that's the first time I ever got feedback on my mod-wheel mastery 😄 - Thank YOU!

Your music is beautiful and inspiring! Bravo. I have these instruments, but did not know how to use them properly -- until now. So, THANK YOU!

Thanks for your video Samuel, I hadn't heard about the Project Sam Free Orchestra 2! Great news. Have a nice day 🙂

Great that you now know about it. In my opinion, ProjectSAM is really giving huge value to the community with their freebie series. These aren't just teasers - this is really pro-grade and useful stuff.

hey Samuel, just found this video, bit late 😁 however i have a solution to your problem, to mute the staccato's you will have to go under the hood by clicking on the wrench and finding the staccato group by opening the group editor, then you can mute this group, tou can customise every library if it has the wrench at the upper left corner but some creators disable this feature so not to mess with their instrument library, you can also change libraries under the hood with the kontakt effects (sound manipulation) however, be sure not to overwrite your original library, save it under another name

I'll be really honest - I am not 100% sure I understand. But I think you suggest me mingling with the Kontakt settings? I think, I just don't want to go down that route. Although it's probably really good to unserdtand how the sampler I use so much really works under the hood.

@@SamuFL yep Samuel,understanding the inner workings of kontakt will help you in the long run,even if its only to change some limited settings or add some extra effects,check out Stephen O'Connell wich has some great easy to understand videos on kontakt KSP,cheers m8

Hi, I am right now looking for a way to share my project files with a broader audience. Still don't have the proper solution, though. Very sorry, I will start sharing properly in the near future, though. So --- stay tuned ;)

Hello Smuel, excellent video. I have already subscribed. Can you tell me what microphone you use, thanks and regards.
@SamuFL Жыл бұрын
Hi, I have two microphones in use: The first one that hangs above my midi controller to the left of me is an audio-technica AT2020 - which I found to be amazingly good for it's price. I also use it to record samples, my guitar, vocals (singing) etc... The second one which is close to me when I'm speaking looking at the screen is a Rode M3, which I particularly purchased back in the day to record my guitar. It works also okayish to caputre speech from close distance.

I am not a keyboard player so bare with the stupid question. We are working on doing a Boston song called foreplay. My keys player can't play fast enough.... only 120 bpm and we need 180. Is it possible to have a Hammond b3 vst speed it up to sound natural. Thank you
@IngieKerr Жыл бұрын
I assume for a recording, as it would be tricky for live without slowing down time :) In a studio, this was often done "in the olden days" by slowing the tape for a performer, often with people who were great musicians... so it's not a stupid question :) Some (Possibly most, but I specifically use Reaper these days) DAWs will let you do all this in the editor automatically simply by setting the tempo down before the recording, then changing the tempo back after the recording - they'll stretch it to fit, but without the need for pitch shifting. Whether it'll sound "natural" or not, is a matter of taste and dependent on how much it needs to be slowed down to get the best performance. But it's certainly a thing, and it's certainly do-able. There's more rudimentary ways to do it with just an audio sample. First recording a performance an octave lower, but at half the tempo, then doubling the speed of the sample in a sample editor, which will both double the speed and raise the pitch back up the octave. Then load that result into the DAW.

@@IngieKerr thats exactly what we do except the pitch my program handles that. We do play it live I was hoping for a more elegant solution. Thank you for taking the time to respond and I wish you and yours the very best.
@IngieKerr Жыл бұрын
@@DavidYoung-jh8wr aha. sorry that wasn't any help, but glad to aid a passer by :) I just had a quick listen to the original song, and I can see what you mean :) it's a tricky thing for sure. I can almost play that speed, but then my fingers have had a good few years practicing the tabla too - and it feels quite a similar finger-tiring experience :) Have you already considered/tried using an arpeggiator with a triplet timing? I just had a quick play in Kontrol with an organ sound with its tempo set at 180 and the Kontrol arp set at 2 octave and an 8th-triplet rate - playing the notes of the organ riff as a chord and let the arpeggiator play them, and it sounded "not bad" - not authentic, but not a terrible representation, and locked at the right tempo - so it would be tight. Other than that, not aware myself if there's a solution beyond playing faster :) But best wishes back to you on your musical explorations
