I used to rent a lock up garage in a block with no electricity. If stuff like this was available back then it would have been a garage-life-changer! Instead some of us struggled on with car batteries, jump starters and rectifiers with about 100 watts to play with, to power a light bulb and a radio and took a thermos.

The average kitchen has such high wattage kettles etc, that's the issue that most folk have no idea about. I have low wattage items in my camper, sure they take longer to boil etc but that's how life was meant to be.

Power stations are a life saver.. They all do the same thing, some have extra features such as expandable battery and the option to jump start a vehicle. There is so much choice compared to 2-3 years ago. So many brands, some much more well known (send units out to KZbinrs for a free review/publicity). Unfortunately the weather is rubbish in the UK from November to February for solar power.

I have the Anker 767 (2300 Watts) and it's brilliant. To be fair I always stay on sites with hook up, but my van is all electric..... induction hob, 240 volt AND 12 volt microwaves, tv etc. But for out and about daytime use it's fantastic. I can cook or make a drink at anytime, watch tv or my girlfriend can use her hair dryer if needed. It's best charged when I'm on hook up, but it will charge from my solar panel or from cig socket, so it's win win for my needs.

It might help to say that 1000 wh are equal to 8.33 amp hours. This way people can understand that say of their electric item draws 1000 watts, your device can run for just over an hour, it it draws 2 amps, you should be able to run 4 hours,

Hi mate! You inspired me with your previous vid to go for a power unit basis for my van (which is a vivaro, ironically!). Have it all fitted and it is working mint, only think it maybe lacks is the grunt to run a heater. Can run Solar into it to recharge and have a simple setup to recharge from the rear 12v car port. Yea it does take a while to charge, but also got a. 240v electric hook up going in so I can charge it from mains on a camp site. It’s different for everyone but for me, this idea was perfect ! Cheers mate !

My problem with all of these is the dc recharge time in the van. Even a small - medium one like this would take 9 hrs of driving. Great though if you only do single night trips or use little power and can make it last the trip (or between mains hook-ups)

Depends which model you get..some can be charged from mains in an hour but it will degrade the battery faster

Same problem you still have to charge the unit. A couple of lithium batteries and as much solar as you can put on roof, plus a b to b charger . We full-time with 700 watts of solar , 2x 135 amps of lithium, a b to b charger and a 16 watt inverter. Works a treat even in the winter.

You know there are very few food entrées that I can't do using a good Electric Skillet W/Lid. HAVE YOU TESTED IT USING AN ELECTRIC SKILLET? That would be my measurement for wanting one for my Van. In my Class A Motorcoach I have a full-on kitchen but I opt to use my Electric Skillet or my Toaster Oven except for occasional Holiday/Seasonal Cooking when more people are being served. I really liked this demonstration How is it for cooking and running a small 12V Refrigerator? Have tried it doing that yet? I'm thinking for an Overnight or two day trip in the Van. No solar system, just home recharging or find a car shop place to recharge it if need be. I'd value your input please. Great Video.

So you only have 1Kwh of capacity but I bet it allows through charging so you can charge and draw from it, thus your lamb stew put it on as you leave your house and plug in to 12V socket - I think they are 8 or 10w and so the battery pack lasts longer as you are driving and your stew cooks while getting to your spot then you can have your tea and chips before the battery goes flat. Also if you have to fly it has to go as hand luggage and not packed luggage, I use mine for a remote island where I don't have mains power there it is worth buying the carry bag as they tend to be fireproof as well. Don't run a heater or AC from it it will only last an hour if you are lucky.

In your video from 22nd Oct, camping with the family you were using a Solix device very similar to this one. You had issues in the morning with Solix making a really loud clicking sound which you described as a bit of a pain. Seems to be caused by the solar being plugged in but the 'sun not being up yet' and so the Solix cannot detect the solar input properly on a morning. Would the Solix C1000 have the same issue? I am interested in the power station but this would obviously be a deal breaker for sleeping in a camper van for those wanting to use it with a solar panel. Cheers

The issue was due to my solar panel and not the power station. However I would recommend using the solar Anker SOLIX provides over wiring in your own

@LoveSundays 9 ай бұрын
With a low wattage air frier yes. With a big one like the one I was using it would be pushing it to get it to go that long
@PC1I
@PC1I 8 ай бұрын
@@LoveSundays The only way to tell how long you can use kitchen aids like that you have to use it as in real life. That a power station can deliver 1800 Watt needed to let the airfryer heat up is nice but does nog give a clue about the runtime with a fully charged powerstation that can deliver a total of 1050 Wh. When the airfryer needs 10 minutes to heat up you lost 300 Wh. Assume 30% of the time after warming up is full throttle then your next hour takes 540 Wh. Conversion form 12.8 to 230V gives some loss as well. Most powerstations can use up to 5% of total capacity so after little more than 60 minutes the powerstation is flat. Assume a low wattage airfryer is 1000 Watt then it would run for about 2 hours. Our, small, 500 Watt rated bread baking machine we use in our campervan takes 280 Wh for making one bread, from start to finish, in 3 hours.

@LoveSundays 9 ай бұрын
I’ve tried a few and Anker SOLIX and Ecoflow are the only ones I will promote now as some of the less known brands are the same price but just don’t perform as well. Don’t get me wrong I will continue to try out other brands but I won’t alway make a video if I don’t think they’re good enough. I just send them back and tell them I’m not willing to promote it. But to answer you question you can’t go wrong with either in my opinion

@@LoveSundays don’t you have to make it clear when you’re advertising a product that you make money from? I mean, it’s clearly an advert. So why not say? Know what I mean?
@LoveSundays
@LoveSundays 9 ай бұрын
@a1d3nh0 when you click on the video it clearly says at the top “includes paid promotion” but I wasn’t paid to talk about it I was simply given the product to give an honest review. I’m pretty sure the title of the video alone let you know that the video would be solely about the product. But I wouldn’t recommend a product I didn’t stand by or believe it was actually a good bit of kit. I decided to make this stand alone video to give my viewers the option to watch it if they wanted too rather than putting it into a camping video and forcing it down peoples necks that didn’t want to learn more. I make extra content and still people want to complain. No wonder people are quitting KZbin 😂
