Nice vid Bryan, that is a very nice looking smartphone you got there, enjoy it! Maybe, you can do a follow up video some months later to see how well it performs after some heavy usage... I also had an Ascend g6 and it was pretty good at the time, but the 1gb of ram got really slow after about two years. I had a Xiaomi redmi note 3 after that and the experience was a nightmare. I updated the andriod through the built in app and after that it had no google play services, half the things on it were in korean/chinese (not sure, not familiar with the characters), even after setting it to english, and i could only get their appstore to work, which was also in that language. I ended up getting a samsung j7 which is ok for now but it probably will get slow in about a year. Good job reviewing the Mate 10, I'm considering getting one in a year or two when I can find it for a decent price used.

Would definitely go back to another Huawei phone in the future though, great phones at very reasonable prices :D

A few years ago i had a Huawei Ascend G700. And that phone was terrible. It was garbage. After it, i bought HTC One M8s. It was ok, i enjoyed it, but it died a month ago (my fault), so i bought Huawei Honor 8. And that phone is absolutely amazing, it is gorgeous! I adore it so-so much!

Lighty Dust you should have bought the pro version instead. I upgraded from the 8 and I can tell you it's a great upgrade that most definitely worth it. Can most definitely recommend the 8 Pro
@Yuu_Touko7 жыл бұрын
You could be right, but, the point is, Pro version is much more expensive. Here where i live, i bought an ordinary version for around 300 euros. Pro version is around 500 for 32 GB and 600 for 64. So, it was obvious for me what to buy.
@James.Stark.Ben.Edition7 жыл бұрын

My P8 has been abused no end, camera glass is smashed, metal frame is snapped, internal storage has been less than 1.5gb available for probably a year and it's always got way too many apps running in the background. BUT.......everything still works and it's still quick for its age. Only now being replaced because battery life has become dire of late. Highly recommended huawei p series, great build quality, fast and emui is a much better experience now than it was just a few years ago.

I recently got a Mate 10 Pro and couldn't be happier. It offers a lot for the money, and the battery life is amazing! I don't care about wireless charging of a quad HD display that sucks battery power. The OLED HD+ display looks fantastic. I do wish that the pro version retained the headphone jack and micro SD card expansion capabilities of the standard Mate 10. However, I've got a decent pair of JBL bluetooth headphones and 128gb of onboard storage is way more than I've ever had in any previous phone that I've owned over the past decade! Huawei released the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro only a week after I got the Mate 10 Pro. However, pigs will fly backwards before I spend AUD$1599 on any phone. The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro offer a lot of phone for the money, and with the newer Huawei phones now on the market, their prices will get even lower.....and that means even better value than they already are! My Mate 10 pro is the blue colour and it looks great. However, the mocha brown colour is also great. I'm still getting used to the camera set up, after coming from a Samsung Galaxy S7 which took great auto shots with HDR automatically switched on. It's a shame that that image stabilisation isn't available in 4K and 1080p 60fps video recording, but it's still available in 1080p 30fps. The camera isn't as immediate to use as compared to a Galaxy or iPhone, but I'll get used to it in time. I'm glad the Mate 10 series have stereo speakers, although they could have been more 'beefier'. I'll be a very happy Mate 10 pro user for at least the next couple of years that's for sure! Thanks for your review.

Non-removable battery and it's not even water resistant? Is there any smartphone company in the world left that doesn't want me to keep using my Galaxy Note 3 for another 4 years?
@smirnoffvodka26187 жыл бұрын
they do for the wrong reasons, thats why people who dont stay up with the hype and dont suck up the lies end up using their old phones since they are pretty similar (or atleast good enough to do whatever you want, which makes it useless to upgrade) allthough i think the oneplus 3t would be a nice between upgrade, even though the new 5t is out the 3t still has some tricks up its sleeve (such as your noted waterproof, which the 5t doesnt have) and offcourse oneplus' legendary charging time maybe worth a check, upgraded my samsung galaxy s1 (yes s1) to it couple months back as the price quite heavily dropped when the 5 and 5t were coming out and so far really happy with it
@256shadesofgrey7 жыл бұрын
+Smirnoff Vodka Meh, I'd rather have my 10Ah extended battery. The 3.4Ah from the 3t is a joke. In fact anything with less than 6Ah is a joke imo. And if the battery is sealed, the phone also has to be cheap, because I can't just keep using it when the battery loses it's capacity. I'll keep my Note 3 until there is a proper upgrade, and not some expensive garbage with none of the features that I need and an intentionally built-in expiration date. I refuse to give up my money for something I know I won't be happy about. Besides, my phone is rooted and I'm running android 7.1. So I don't miss out on new features, and I won't miss out on them until there is nobody left on xda forums making ROMs for the Note 3, and Lineage OS support is dropped, which I don't have to worry about for quite a while. And I've so gotten used to actually being able to do with the phone what I want instead of what the manufacturer intended for me to do that I would feel caged while using a new phone (can't root the new one or I would lose warranty... yet another retarded anti-consumer practice). The only phones I was considering recently were the LG V20 (didn't buy it earlier because I waited for the V30, which sadly turned out to be trash), and the Oukitel k1000 pro. The former actually had everything I wanted, but it can't be found anywhere in any store and it's not even on amazon here, and the latter, while being cheap enough for me to tolerate a sealed battery, uses a mid-low range chipset from 2 generations ago. I would have bought the k10000 pro on black Friday, if it at least had a current gen chipset. But since it didn't, I just ordered a replacement battery for my Note 3, so now I'll be using it for 2-4 more years. There is nothing good on the market right now, and quite frankly, when someone gives a good review for such pieces of crap that are available now, I wonder where they left their brain and their dignity.

256shadesofgrey Yo bro calm down, I don’t get how you call the LG V30 trash when you have a note 3 yourself (The speed difference is quite significant)? Try to be open minded to newer technologies and not be so closed minded and angry about everything out there.
@256shadesofgrey7 жыл бұрын
+hello hi Speed difference doesn't mean shit if the battery is empty after an hour of gaming and you can't make a call for the rest of the day. What else would you need that speed for? And cut the crap with "open minded". There is a difference between being open-minded and supporting anti-consumer practices of companies. There is no "new technology" in sealing the same battery so that you have to throw your phone away after 2 years.

I have a Huawei P8 or P9 Lite, don't remember and to lazy to check. It's great. Had only Windows Phones since at least 2012 and before that a Samsung Phone with Android 2.3. That was terrible and the OS super cluttered and complicated-ish. Got the Huawei more or less by Accident and it's great. Very easy to use even if I still kinda prefer the UI of Windows Phone. But it's fast and I learned to appreciate the additional features of Android that I didn't have with Windows Phone and didn't know I wanted. When this phone doesn't work anymore and I'll need a new one I'll certainly buy another Huawei.
