Personally, I think Spawn In The Demon's Hand is the best Spawn game to be made. Sure, it's basically a multiplayer arena death match/boss rush type game, but it was hella fun and had a ton of characters you can use. Spawn Armageddon from developer Point Of View (Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Blitz: The League, TNA Impact Wrestling, Narc) was decent overall.

This game was one of my favorites as a kid. So much so that I bought a Dreamcast again 20yrs later, just to play this and the RPG "Silver". I loved unlocking all of the characters as a kid and playing with friends was a blast.

I don't think you have the right mindset to appreciation this. It's a home conversion of a quarter munching arcade game that doesn't even take ten minutes to beat. The Dreamcast was infamous for having a library of mostly these games but as a '90s kid I loved it.

As a huge Spawn fan myself, I personally believe Spawn: in The Demon's Hand is definitely the best Spawn game out there. With SNES in 2nd and Armageddon in 3rd I guess... lol that game is ass. I envy those that enjoy that game.

Yeah, with all the revivals, we should for sure get a new Spawn title. There's a lot of potential takes from DMC, Bayo, GoW, Arkham or Spider-Man's combat systems. Or even an Arcade Beat'Em Up like TMNT.

I played this game way back in the arcades. I enjoyed the hell out of it when I got to play it. The only downside is when I don't have anyone to play with so I never got past Viccilator. But I was lucky enough to play with other people to enjoy the full game. I never got to play this on the Dreamcast but it would be nice to play it one day.

Spawn needs a new single player focused game. Probably best to have a Japanese dev make it. Way too many US or European gaming companies would ruin it with a soulless multiplayer only cash grab like the recent Aliens fireteam elite. Oh, have Keith David voice Spawn too.

Im 28, i played this game since release with my cousins and as i grew up a pc gamer i can say up to literally last night i still get toghether with my brothers and cousins to play this game and is the reason why the only console i keep is my Dreamcast since Shenmue 1 & 2 already came to PC. This game is still to us the best fun to be had but i think you judged it too much on a modern gaming perspective forgeting it was and it still is an ARCADE game

Love this game , my only con is that the main game mode / story is shorter in single player . The longer story and other characters you unlock are LOCKED into multiplayer which sucks .

Is this the best spawn game? Probably. Definitely one of the coolest arcade cabinet games ever. Mk11 is a decent spawn game. Dmc5 with a spawn mod is phenomenal. Armageddon has some cool content but its overall a very poor playing game. Idk. Im a spawn fan so, i obviously bought it. Spawn eternal, ehhhh they messed up but it could have been great. Soul calibur 2? Definitely a iconic spawn game. Sadly, not even 1 developers come forth to ask McFarlane to invest into a game. A successful game generates more money than movies do. Players advertise for free and it sells merchandise if its fun / iconic. Look at fallout 4. I loved nuka cola so much i bought a nuka bottle! I could write a BOOK on what a spawn game truly needs. A stand alone reboot of the comics, why? Bc the comics get wayyyyy too crazy. But i still adore spawn, Lotta cool stuff going on. Here's some basic ideas. Detroit. Small Hell levels based on seeking boss fights. Item obtaining, that has skill benefits for your build. Player skill based gameplay with different builds possible like focusing on melee, stealth, ranged, necromancy summoning. A level up system similar to prototype and dmc5, more you level up the faster you run higher you jump more combos and weapons you unlock. Ability to unlock safe houses protected with spells so they can't be broken into, mechanics comparable to gta5 online here. Ability to glide like batman, high level characters can fly briefly. A few very unique spawn based vehicles, as seen in various media such as the spawn cycle. Have it be a morph unlock done by the cape. A story based on widespread demon possession, a dark demonic cloud blots the sky out in detroit and the city gets a martial law+ evacuation. Plenty of buildings, especially abandoned war zone neighborhoods to check out during this lockdown..something as simple as thr City gets poisoned with heart stopping something then demons take their bodies. Military is commanded to do research so theres only the occasional squad you steal weapons and ammunition from. Without more information they wont nuke or send more soldiers in. Every team is recon. You get A preset necroplasm bar that reflects health and power for energy attacks that is only refilled when demonic souls are harnessed for their necroplasm. Upon hitting zero on the necroplasm meter you return to hell and have to do some basic tasks to return to detroit. Die in hell and your character is deleted UNLESS your in a different hell besides the 8th sphere. The 8th sphere is unique. Every player gets a custom hell spawn for online and can play offline to experience the game. Main story mode you play as THEE spawn and his whole thing is rising to power to kill malbolgia, after he does hes now King Spawn and summons your created hell spawn to seek out and destroy other demons on earth and the other leaders of hell ( bosses of other spherew ) Why? Bc king spawn has to rule the 8th sphere and cant return to earth anymore. His plan is to have his army kill the 7 lesser spheres so he can attack the 9th spehere and ensure demons never invade earth ever again. Boom. Basic concept. If youre wondering what the gear would look like, see mk11 unlockables. Id re use assets and add more. Spawn had 5 melee weapons, unarmed, agony axe, spawn sword, malicious mace and chains of hell. He had a variety of guns. Had energy attacks and the ability to summon demons with necromancy.
