30.6.24. The first & last time I was in Raglan all there was there was a fish n chip shop, a pub and maybe a couple of other shops but nothing like there is now, looks absolutely fabulous, great trip there guys. One thing from memory we had small boat races and Moana Jackson, the lawyer, was coming last in the race we had, so he go out of his waka and tipped everyone out who was in front of him and his paddling partner, tipped us out of our boats, we had great fun. This was on a Marae Noho we attended when I was on my Reo language voyage. We loved that tiny village as it was way back when.

I've come to the inevitable conclusion that the main reason you guys find so many cool places in NZ is that once YOU are there, the place instantly becomes COOL! I've also learned not to watch your videos with an empty stomach - the food sections make me drool and could easily be expanded as videos in their own right. All the best for your future travels.

Hi guys. If you had driven maybe 3kms south along the coast, turning right out of the Ngarunui Beach Reserve (beach surf break) you would find Manu Bay, a rocky point break where surf competitions are regularly held, and Whale Bay, another point break. Manu Bay is extraordinary because you can view from an elevated parking area the surfers riding parallel to the shore.

Yes there is a chanel there but probably safer when tide is in. You.must have realised by now that we like jumping off things, we like a bit of risk. Go to ohope and jump off the wharf. Check tides first though.

The camping ground at Raglan is surrounded by a high security fence. It keeps the riff raff out. It also keeps the riff raff in.
