Happy Birthday Glen! Your adventure on Doubtful Sound brought back memories of a 1974 excursion that my sister and I had. Our trip to Doubtful Sound included the boat across Lake Manapouri then a bus ride to the Manapouri power station (awe inspiring.) The bus continued through the bush where we saw lots of native birds. We arrived to a small dock on the sound and boarded a fishing boat, only a dozen or so passengers. The captain had fished the waters and told tales of Maori legends. We sat on the deck (no chairs) and moved through the mists as if we were the only people on the planet. Unfortunately we didn't have cameras. Thank you again for sharing this wonderful trip which has enriched my own memories. So impressed with the way you share your experiences in New Zealand. I'm determined to have one last visit. Take care.

Stayed there for a week on a school trip, with hiking trips into the bush, when aged 12 (a very long time ago). Went back a couple of times as an adult. Launch (much smaller than on this video) nearly rolled over rounding the heads of the sound - even the captain was shaken up. Such a magical place, except for the sand flies 😆. Wonderful travel vlogs - I have not lived in NZ for 36 years and your videos are prompting me for a NZ travel holiday.

Feel lucky to have visited, for both day trip and overnight stay, on both Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Although both are stunning the remoteness of Doubtful makes it my favourite. The day trip there also used to include a tour of the (far) underground Manapouri Power Station (near where the bus departs from) but I think they no longer do that. It was pretty special too

@GlenAndMado Gee thanks for the reply. Watched most of your videos and think you guys do a great job of promoting our country. The cost of living in NZ I is extremely high. However, there is no excuse for the exorbitant prices we charge tourists. Tourists travel a long way to get to NZ, i feel as though we rip them off while their here.

I feel were your coming from! Rent is cheaper in New Zealand then most countries in Europe and Australia so it balances out as food is slightly more expensive. fuel is slightly cheaper then Ireland and Germany too. We are basically just paying the same as we would back home. Yeah your right about tourist attractions though, can be very expensive at times haha
