Totally ignored franking credits, payout ratios and liquidity. Mentioning a 'better' option with a negligible yield increase for 3x the annual fee cost is pointless and borderline misleading to anyone looking to invest in VHY or another high yield ETF. They also offer brokerage free buys and fixed $9 sell brokerage though their own platform. The trailing 12 month dividend yield for VHY is also %5.23 with a gross yield of %6.59 not 'under 5' as was mentioned. DYOR

Hi, There is one problem with your view. VHY overperform VAS over last 10 years by 50% if you reinvest dividents. Love your podcast.

was going to say the same - DRP and growth

Over the last 11 years, for 1000 units, there is 3k difference in returns (VHY returning 3k more) when comparing VAS and VHY, I’d prefer VAS holding top 300 vs top 65. 🤷♂️

You didn’t mention franking credits for this ETF…. Unless I missed it?? I’m retired and like VHY for regular income… own VAS also 👍

You might like VHY but there are so many better options

I think this shows how much they know about what they are talking about. Disscussing high dividend/yield ETFs, comparing it with VAS and not mentioning franking credits at all 🤦♂️

Guys - just read the comments below. Seriously won't hurt to do some basic research around yields and franking etc. before putting out episode and throwing vague figures. If in rush, ask chatgpt atleast to cover basics to keep the content to a high quality

Hi Gents, apologies if you've already covered this one but i've been getting my daughter to invest in the Commsec pocket ETF's. Wondering if these are actually any good?...or should i just get her to switch to a proper brokerage platform and start buying Vanguard etc...?

Great question I’ve been doing the same with my sons both teens on Commsec. Wondering if it’s the best or setup a minor account on another platform like Superhero. I use Betashares platform myself, they are bringing in minor accounts but not available just yet. I love the Betashares platform it’s so easy to use.

Why would i buy this and just not buy the 10-12 stocks by themselves? Do the besterest dividend yielding stocks move around that much?

Broker costs for a start…. VHY is a good choice if you want consistent income…..also mentioned, vas good for growth and income

ETF's are much safer and more cost effective over time, plus balanced regularly a few times a year. I have 9 ETF's for both capital growth and monthly dividend income.

@@tiberus7 Which ones do you have? Are they diversified and also are they AUS and global markets? Im thinking of similar strategy.

@RA99-c8p Hi, I have 8 ETF's now after consolidating my account recently - VHY, VVLU, IVV, BITO, SCHD, JEPI, JEPQ, DIVO. Covering a broad spectrum of the market/diversification and getting monthly and quarterly dividends.
