I've added "faffing about" to my vocabulary. It's perfect, just faffing about. Whoa, volcanoes ... we sure have them in the Pacific Northwest of the USA (and Canada) ... Mt. Rainier ... Mt. St. Helens ... both are listed as two of the most dangerous volcanoes in the USA (if not the world) and could blow any time. Ahoy there, Heidi! Your videos were amazing infotainment for me during the year I spent finding and buying my first boat. This is my second winter aboard now and I have never stopped loving the life. You paint a really fun and honest picture of what it's like to be a boater, and I learned more about the daily practicalities of boat life from watching your videos than from anywhere else. Faffing about, is doing something the "Long Way Round". When it comes to the size of locks, in 1969 i went with a group of fellow venture scouts. We hired camping punts and went up the Thames as far as Lechlade, went up a few navigable "Drains", went beyond the sign saying "No Longer Navigable". But in thames locks we felt like matchsticks in a puddle.Those punts were 18 feet long, 3 feet wide and 20 inches at the deepest point. They had hoops that supported canvas covers, but in those locks, boy did we feel small. Happy days. Take care out there, we loved that phone call.

I just remembered where I saw someone using Heidi’s comment about the mermaid. It was the KZbinr from Down Under who raises sheep and whose salty language is hilarious in its own way. Heidi’s double entendres are just so very clever, especially the titles of her musical creations. Hey Heidi, I think I enjoy these simple cruising vlogs the most. I know it may not be a top view getter for you but, for me, it's an escape from, well from my pretty worrisome world at the moment. Anyway, you're filming and editing skills are top notch! The music you put to the part where you were struggling trying to get the lock gate shut was spot on. 😂And you are also right on the mark as far as your advice to do what you want while you still can. I thought the meaning of faffing about was well known, same meaning as the other f word so faffing is a better option to the other word, use it rather than swearing. You’re so lucky to have your mum and dad, she’s very active for someone who has had those injuries. Wow Heidi must have had your 3 shedded wheat to move that lock gate , bit of faffing and you moved it , bet you made up to see your mum , loved the music, watched a Robbie Cummin video and there was a couple with one of those tiller covers , don’t know if they were new to boating but they went into a tunnel and flattened the cover . that lock gate was a real stiff one... Yes that boat has a cruiser stern so they can have a cover..... mine is a trad so they can't
