ESPN is rich. When Kobe was alive, you had people leaving him out of the GOAT conversations completely (all about Lebron), saying ridiculous things like he's not even in the top 100, now that he's gone, everyone has hopped on the Kobe train. The worst of them is Max Kellerman.

They need a Lakers ESPN doc like how they done for the Chicago Bulls with “The Last Dance”. It should start from the draft of Kobe in 96 and follow everything the Lakers went through throughout those years from 1996-2010(when Kobe got his last ring). They should name it something like “The Dynasty”. That would be dope af. A lot of people may not know how hard it was for the Lakers early on, Kobe struggled and the duo of Kobe and Shaq wasn’t working out at the beginning. So a doc on those Laker teams from those years would be very interesting, to see how they made it all work out and created a dynasty out of hardships.

@cactusjack2264 3 жыл бұрын
Suhaib bro, you do know all that footage they had for the “Last Dance” is older than footage they would have on Kobe and the Lakers, right? They had footage from when Jordan was playing in the 80’s, I’m sure they have a ton of footage of the late 90’s, 2000’s up to 2010 Lakers. I’m sure it can be restored if they were able to restore Jordan’s older games from the 80’s and 90’s.

Kobe was a different breed. He didn’t have any pre or post-game dance or have fancy handshakes with anyone. He was a straight competitor. A winner by every means. He worked unusually harder than anyone because he loved the game and he respected the Lakers franchise and it’s brand. He sacrificed his body to win and took no games off for rest. He got into it with any teammate who would come to work out of shape, late or leave early. Kobe didn’t get political like today’s players. There will never be another Kobe.☝️

They could of win more titles, how dominant this team was in the past, was something else to watch growing up. Its was a great experience to watch the Lakers and even,being from the Illinois area to watch the Bulls be so dominant also. I think these two teams were the best we will ever see.

I remember in the late 90’s/early 00’s I think, people were debating whether VC or Kobe is the next MJ. Somehow somewhere down the line, VC became contented at being remembered as a great dunker than being a winner.

I was never a fan of Kobe but respected him 100% as a player but losing him as a person hit different, everything went down hill since then unfortunately, I do miss him gracefully

Espn really milking his legacy for extra cake. Sad, considering how badly they treated him on the downside of his career.

As a TRUE Lakers fan I say this to the "recent" Kobe appreciation......I'll take that. No matter what brought you to Kobe, as long as you walked away knowing what it is, he's still working at it, gaining fans everyday still.
