There's was a time when spidey's settler pioneer ancestors would have traversed the Australasian continental landmass on horseback, so taking the bus really isn't a big deal in comparison, much more comfortable than horse and wagon.

Actually it costs like 3-4x the price to get the bus rather than fly, greyhound site says $720 cheapest, Jetstar will fly you over in 3 hours for $150.. It's hard to imagine why anyone would want to take the bus for this trip, maybe to experience the journey.. but train is probably cheaper still and more comfortable..
