So I didn't notice until just now BUT when I was talking about issues with the sear/hammer... what I was talking about was the disconnector. I am so used to hammer fired firearms, just slipped up with what I actually meant. 🤣😂

I'd use federal American eagle I see when you rack that thing back make sure you let the bolt slam forward harder than how your doing it that is were your light strikes are comin from I had the same problem soon as I started slamming the bolt all the way shut never occurred again

Well it might be unreliable but damn they are sure cool looking.

oh yeah, almost too cool and too much fun... makes the hiccups totally worth it 🤣😂
@ThePants2012 Жыл бұрын
A lot of the hiccups are magazine related. They're.... not great. I have 2 mags, 1 runs flawless, the other you're clearing every 5th or 6th round. The tec-9 is also prone to breaking firing pins. It's a good idea to keep a couple spares on hand. Mine had a broken firing pin when I bought it, so I ordered 3. Are they good? Nah. Are they cool as hell? Yeah. A telescoping wire stock would be fire on one. If I still had access to a lathe, I'd make a thread adapter so I could put my can on it in place of the barrel extension. I had started drawing one up in cad a few years ago, maybe I should finish that and have a batch made. Can't wait to see your assessment Clover 👍

pretty much cover exactly what you say here 😂🤣 i have had this one since the very early 2000s and have replaced firing pin and springs multiple times. they light strike a lot.

I had a Tec-9 for a short while a long time ago. One of the worst was the Cobray M-11 in 9mm. Mags were Zytel polymer, including the feed lips. Fill a mag up to full and all the rounds would fly out from spring pressure. The trigger had to have a piece of rubber hose over it to soften the slap to the finger when firing it. Sights were crude, and there was nowhere to safely put your support hand on the gun except wrapping it around the firing hand.
@CloverTac5 ай бұрын
yeah pretty much everything i have ever seen from Cobray was terrible, some of them to have cool and collectible factor though, like the Tec 9. from one dimensitonal firearm owners, well that doesn't mean anything but for multi dimensional fierarm owners, those things still have appeal

my pleasure and yeah, i had never done a video with it, was actually talking to a fellow creator and Intratec came up, he couldn't believe i had one 🤣😂 so figured, heck, why not just make a video and thankfully there was a break in the regular stuff that allowed it

Your holding the mag. If you hold the bolt back and wiggle the mag to and fro, youll notice alot of wiggle. This movement back and forth helps feeding by reducing bolt drag over the feedlips. Its best to hold it on the shroud and fire from the hip. If you need accuracy you can hold it like a hand gun. Also the firing pin should have a ball tip. If the tip is flat it can cause drag or in the worst case catching on the step inside the bolt. You can carefully file a ball on the tip to improve reliabilty. I hope this helps. If so, please post a follow-up. Fairness!

One of the worst “known about” guns.. a friend of mine owned an ab10 and I don’t think I ever saw it cycle more than two rounds.. then it would dump a bunch of unfired ones out of the port.. Bulky, cheap feeling and horribly unreliable. Easily one of the worst.
@CloverTac4 ай бұрын
yet one of the most infamous, iconi, awesome and collectible all at the same time 🤣😂

@@CloverTac oh he really regrets getting rid of it now! I think he paid like $50 for the thing knowing it was unreliable but literally ended up trading it for a few boxes of ammo back when private transfers were still allowed here.. that pos is worth like $500 now!
@CloverTac4 ай бұрын
think i gave about $300 for this one back in the late 90s. orignal case, shroud, 5 mags. that same setup now can go for as much as $1,500... so yeah, i bet he is kicking himself. this is why i have never been overly judgemental about guns. some are workhorses, some are play toys, some are race cars, some are collectibles... just gotta see things for what they are right?
@jseden4 ай бұрын
@@CloverTac 100% man! And yea an actual tech9 with the shroud and all would naturally fetch more than the ab10 but they’re both part of the same story. Hindsight being what it is, I wish I’d have bought the thing off him now lol
@CloverTac4 ай бұрын
i got a similar story, traded something, can't remember now what, think maybe it was like an hour serice labor... $75 for a Tec 22 Scorpion in the early 2Ks. had it a couple of months and it started doing some weird stuff, the most concerning was running away randomly. rather that fixing it and keeping it, i traded it off for something else... what now i do not recall... so yeah, sometimes we made what turns out to be really stupid decisions LOL
