Dear Dan, Always enjoy your videos, especially ones like this on your potato harvest. Your observations are always very valuable and instructive. Your use of containers for growing potatoes was very informative. Just a couple of days ago, I watched a similar video of gardeners in Eastern Ontario who grew their sweet potatoes in containers this year, and had a very good yield. All very interesting. It is always good to see different ways of gardening, and what works and doesn’t work. Thank you again, Dan, for your latest video. Wishing you all that is Good, True, and Beautiful in your garden. Sweden here. Didn’t get that many potatoes either. Although I did get a truckload of peaches! Got inspired by you to plant one in my greenhouse. :)

All things considered, not a bad harvest. After my move and the deer eating everything I'm extremely grateful I had a good garlic crop. Just replanted them and some leeks and chives also survived 😂 I'm looking forward to 4 amazing years of prosperity 😊 Thanks for the Video, Dan. Many Blessings 🙏🏻

@jessicapayne8622 sounds fun. I think it could work. I remember when I had an allotment a chap there used to plant new potatoes in January in the ground underneath a cold frame. He used to get some new potatoes very early because of this.

Hi Dan, hope you’re doing well . I didn’t plant potatoes this year as I had a monster dose of blight last year so wanted to give it a rest for a year or two. Cracking garlic crop this year though 👍

Alright Dan, I relate with not having enough time to garden this year. As a result mine has been overrun with weeds and ivy, feeling like I need to tear everything down to soil level and start again come Janauary.

Your info and videos going to be Very useful in Spring 2025 , says here central east usa, can plant beets , and chard early Oct through early Nov. And couple Sept and yes did and sprouted and doing fine. Thanks for Video teachings

I didn't plant any spuds this year but am still harvesting tomatoes from the greenhouse - very late to get going but good yield in the end ! Judging by your experience it's Kondor for the win 🙂🥔🏆

Hi Dan, overall harvests were a bit meh this year, very slow to get going but potatoes that I planted early did ok but the July planting didn’t get enough sun. Always next year though😊

I saved them from last year Laura. There have issues with getting them in recent years it seems. I think mine originally came from here. So, was the yield per plant larger from the Kondor variety, even though those were planted late (July)? If so, do you think that was just because they got a bit more sun or do you think that is a better variety for the UK climate? I didn't plant any potatoes this year, but the toms and cues were not very productive. However, I still have a large pot of Lobelia in flower on the back patio - a bit unusual for November. 🙂 Our summer was pretty poor this year, but it could be worse - those floods in Spain were awful.

Honestly speaking I dont know, I think this year was rather odd overall regarding the garden. Indeed, those floods were awful.

My potatoes always seem to get blight, not all of them but a fair amount. Grown in different places but maybe haven’t been watered as much as they should. Can that be a cause?

Blight is normally caused by wet weather.
