We are so excited to be back in one of our favorite places on earth! In today's video we talk about what makes this city so special. The tiny apartments, in a huge city, the traditional and the futuristic, the opportunity to stay young forever.
We show our tiny Tokyo AirBnb, visit a 7-11 to stock up on it's unique Japanese offerings of onigiri & green juice, we take the metro, and visit Shibuya Crossing the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world.
Ivan isn't sure why I'm taking him to a restaurant with mediocre food & drink, until he sees dozens of robots lined up waiting to entertain and serve us! Pepper Parlor is an entertaining way to spend a lunch break, programming, chatting, and dancing with robots, while eating pancakes.
We visit the Nintendo and Pokemon stores and talk about our love for a culture that proudly embraces their interests. Oh and the photobooths and arcades, I LOVE those!!!
Stepping into the traditional, we visit Meiji Shrine where we follow the purification ritual and visit the marriage trees in this incredible oasis within one of the world's largest cities.
Speaking of large, it is time to see the city from above to get an idea of just how large it is. We head to the observation deck on the 45th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building for incredible views for FREE! This is one of the best free activities in Japan. We can see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree and more, all with live piano music played by some incredibly talented guests.
But while there are so many gorgeous and unique aspects of this city, it is still a major international city, which means all the greatest the world has to offer including our favorite boba place ever that we found last year in NYC! Xing Fu Tang.
To finish the night we have to get sushi at Kura, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It is a fun experience, and the food is pretty good for the price, but if you're reading this for a recommendation, I prefer Sushiro for converyor belt sushi. Eating Otoro is a pretty great way to finish this video.
Thanks so much for joining us for this madventure! Please subscribe for more :)

Welcome to madventure, we're MADison and iVEN (okay it is spelled Ivan, but pronounced like VENture) a husband and wife living the adventure we have been dreaming of, despite the fact that it makes us sound completely mad. For us that looks like traveling full time and starting our own businesses.
For Madison, a former reality TV producer, the dream is the madventure community, connecting people through travel, experiencing new cultures, and trying the best foods from carts, stands and restaurants all over the world. She hopes to encourage others to follow their maddest most adventurous dreams, whatever they may be! For Ivan, a former NASA engineer, it is creating an engineering product that will change the world! Travel and food are two of our biggest passions, so on this channel we will be traveling the world, and staying awhile to experience what life is actually like living other places. We're excited to have you on board for the delicious, culture filled, madventurous times that will ensue! Let's madventure! xoxo

I was so impressed with Madison reading hiragana already! The sign you were reading said Ikebukero Yochien (kindergarten). Maguro is tuna and toro is a fatty cut. Otoro is especially fatty and a delicacy here. It looks like you are having a lot of fun, and since I have lived here for decades, it was so fun for me to see Tokyo through your fresh point of view.

Thank you so much!!! I've been practicing my hiragana on the trains too since the stop names switch between English & Hiragana! Good to know about maguro vs toro, we tried kamatoro yesterday too, even fattier than otoro, it was crazy! Definitely loving exploring your city so glad we got to see you here as well!!!

Tokyo is not one of the biggest cities in the world. Tokyo is with 37.5 mil. people the biggest city in the world. I love Tokyo too! ❤
