I love hearing that you use herbs every day for cooking such a beautiful benefit for your health. in reading more about turmeric most practitioners are stating that turmeric should be taken with a fat, such as milk, almond milk type beverage, which allows it to be more absorbed into the digestive tract. Love to hear your thoughts on this.

Dr. Hashmi, thank you for mentioning to use the powder over the capsules and to ensure it’s USDA organic! That’s really important, especially with Tumeric and Ginger. Also, for renal transplant patients, both spices can affect Tacrolimus and increase the serum TAC levels, so don’t use the capsules for either, just some of the powders sparingly when cooking.

I would think, without knowing, that lyposomal curcumin would be the best form of curcumin. And still have turmeric for all the other chemical constituents. Nordic Naturals makes a gummy with Longvida brand of lyposomal curcumin. The main problem is they're expensive. But if they're absorbed fully then maybe they're a deal? Just throwing that thought out there.

Fasting, plant base diet, ( fruits that help heal kidneys pineapple, water melon, grapes, cranberries, applea, and almonds) supplements like basic ones without all the bad fillers will help heal the kidneys. Get some exercise like walking ❤ Fasting cures cancer I'm certain it can heal the kidneys. Look into Fasting for healing. My mom has stage 3 kidney failure. I'm working with her to help her get healthy too. I have hypertension and pre-diabetic. If I don't get healthy and change my life I'm next. So now I'm almost 1 month in on a plant base diet. I don't eat any meat. Only fish she seafood. Mostly whiting fish and on occasion mackerel. Whiting fish and tilapia and several others have barely or the lowest amount of mercury. God bless you

Thanks for this informative vid. I'm hoping it is true that another variable of Turmeric is especially bioactive and health enhancing: as well: fermented Turmeric. I've found a small amount of information about this online, but enough that I use 1/2 to 1t organic Turmeric powder per pint when starting second ferment Kombucha. So the Turmeric powder ferments along with the rest of the Kombucha ingredients for a few days. This adds an exotic under taste to the Kombucha and, I hope, enhances it's health value.

Black pepper and turmeric used in cooking are not a concern for oxalates. For example, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper is only 3 mg oxalate. Someone with high urine oxalate levels would likely want to avoid turmeric supplements because those are much more concentrated/high in oxalate.

Does turmeric cause kidney stones ?
@PlantBasedKidneyHealth
@PlantBasedKidneyHealth 2 жыл бұрын
We will have an episode specifically on this to explain in detail, but...turmeric is a higher oxalate spice (this does not mean it causes calcium oxalate stones). Used in cooking, much smaller doses are consumed. For example, 1 teaspoon of turmeric is higher in oxalates, but one typically does not consume 1 teaspoon each day, let alone at one meal....the anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory benefits of curcumin may help inhibit stone formation. Different supplement types also contain different oxalate amounts.....Overall, you want to check with your physician prior to starting to take any supplement. When used in cooking, it is generally not consumed in excessive amounts.

Turmeric used in cooking is not a concern potassium wise! 1 teaspoon is ~ 65 mg of potassium. You should discuss with your doctor before taking a supplement though since it is possible it could have higher/more concentrated levels of potassium.
