Great Video! Just to add more information, you can actually move to Canada as a PR from other Countries directly. There's an immigration stream called Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry). What a lot of people do is go to Canada to study (Study permit + work permit for 20hs/week). After they finish their studies, they get a PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit) and are allowed to work for 1-2 years. After that, they apply for PR. Only after being a PR for 3 years they're allowed to apply for citizenship. It's a struggle.

Also if you work a tech job, you can get a work permit and after 1 year of qualified work in Canada you can apply to be a PR. Not 3, but 1 year.

Vancouver is the most expensive city in Canada. You should try going to cities like Calgary. The city has natural Beauty and is so affordable. People are nice too
@ed1019-h8o2 жыл бұрын
I love Vancouver, I was raised here, I particularly like the many outdoor activities we have and it is a very friendly city too! But yes it is expensive, partly due to people using housing as a speculation vehicle like the stock market buying and selling for profit....but you can do it, as there are lots of jobs. I am a very motivated person and work for Service Now remotely in product management, I also love meeting new people so I deliver for a food delivery app a few nights a week and meet lots of friendly Vancouver people thru deliveries, I also am a plant based person and help with the online marketing for two plant based food companies. I just have this personality that has many interests, and as long as I take really good care of my health I have lots of energy. I earn about 160,000 a year, after tax 110,000 I save about 20,000, I also donate two a couple of charities. So it is expensive but to me it is worth it as I really like the lower mainland/west coast/easy going/friendly culture, but you do need good sources of legal income. I also don't plan on ever retiring, I would be so bored, so I am not too concerned with large savings, I need lots to do and am a life long learner.

I like your videos but think I should point out an inaccuracy in the immigration section of your video. You don't need to live for 3 years in Canada before you can apply for a PR. That's the required limit for a citizenship (canadian passport). The PR (permanent residency) is usually attainable after a year of 'skilled' work experience in Canada. You can also apply for a PR or immigration directly from an outside country and enter canada as a permanent resident the day you land. However, this route is a bit tougher since it's hard to accumulate the points to qualify for immigration/PR.

It's raining very often in winter, but it's mainly very light rain. You will look at people outside in the rain and maybe 10 to 20% will have an umbrella. A lot of people even carry an umbrella, but won't use it not to get it wet. Yes, that sounds stupid, but I do the same now. That's how light the rain can be. If you're from the east coast like me, you know that the rain there falls like nails and is accompanied of wind which makes it fall sideways and render umbrellas wiite pointless. So yes it rains a lot, but it rarely prevents you from going out and enjoy the outdoors.

There are private insurers for optional (collision, comp) ICBC is only the sole provider for basic insurance that's required to be on the road. That said, private insurers only take the best risks (people with a lot of driving experience and few to no accidents) so young people are generally hooped. Oh! I thought of this channel yesterday: i hope you do a buyer beware for people moving here especially vulnerable students. I always look at craigslist for rentals and notices a gross growing trend of schemers. There's the standard ones of showing luxurious spaces way under market (there's giveaways like granite counters, yaletown, lets pets, $1200!) but there's been new ones. One dingus keeps posting directly to students that they're an "agent" and will negotiate a price for you and charge you like $3,000 (TF?!) that's bull, no Agents are involved in rentals. Keep it simple and only respond to caretaker/ owners. If it's a rental manager call them and ask them if they have the place you're looking for in their portfolio. Then yesterday, some dick posted a house with a $50 application fee for each possible tenant! Unbelievable! We are not NY. Rentin is straightforward with a standard 1 year lease and firs/ last (maybe) and damage deposit, that's it! Some fees are legit like a move in fee (which i also think is garbage but is standar) for condos because you occupy the elevators. But really, lets not screw over new people or students, which seems to be your audience.

Canadian immigration requires a PR to stay in Canada for at least 2 full years within the first five years to keep the PR; status, three full years to apply for citizenship. A PR can live in Canada forever without ever becoming a citizen as long as they fulfill the PR requirements, which do not include an examination. For citizenship, there is an exam. Hey Adam, quick question. Can you leave the country for certain period (2weeks) and come back in those 3 years for PR? Or you need to have continuously 3 years stay in Canada without leaving it? Thanks for the answer ✌️

I believe you are able to leave and come back while you are employed, but I don't think you can leave during the time you are requesting an extension on the visa. I must say that I'm not 100% certain on this, but believe that's how it goes!

It is a beautiful for sure and if you are super active and love the outdoors you will love it in Van. If you are a regular person it is pretty over-hyped. Too expensive. BC taxes are too high. The people are cold and unfriendly. The city is dirty, lots of homeless and they are seeping into all areas not only downtown. Crime is going up too. Dating is really difficult. Transit is great but super expensive, prices go up every 2-3 years. Summers are too hot and short, the rest of the year it is raining non-stop. Winter is a fucking gong show when the snow hits. It always does for at LEAST a couple of weeks a year. Be prepared for absolute chaos on transit and on the roads. If you don't plan on taking advantage of the outdoors then do not live here. You also need to have an legit career and a college degree to make enough money to live on your own or else be prepared to live like a college student and have room mates into your 30s.

My conclusion is: Depends how much you want to sacrifice. Vancouver is awesome city, one of the best in whole North America. City is built very wise that you even not have to rely on public transport. Surroundings are so awesome that you can do trips and hikes every day and not see enough. 250km to Seattle and state Washington is awesome as well. They Bay, these sceneries, swimming in summer, skiing in winter. Paradise. BUT - you have to be know that salaries are not as high as should be. Many western countries offer better salaries for less living costs. - owning car is expensive and is much better to start without a car. Move along sky train and use it - but TransLink is more expensive every year :-/ - buy electric scooter, move anywhere almost for nothing - but those long periods of bad wetter - save money, really thing wisely in every field in the beginning - paid vacation in Canada is sick as well as medical welfare - skilled jobs are paid in Vancouver pretty poor (50k CAD for skilled job is not big deal, even in eastern Europe you can get higher salary with much lower costs of living) - you will compete with people from all over the world. And it's difficult to compete with people from poor country with will to work a lot for half that skilled worker should get It is possible to live there, to enjoy it but it's not simple, it needs effort.

1) There are MANY THIEVES downtown Vancouver so watch your shit all the time... 2) There is an even mix of human and animal shit downtown on the streets of Vancouver... 3) People have protests here almost every single weekend... 4) you will wear a rainjacket & t-shirt & a wool sweater all in the same day here (only rare days though)... 4) people simply mind their own business here and so many people "aren't friendly" in Vancouver... 5) despite all this Vancouver has so many good things going for it that it's still worth living here for at least a few years.

First, attend a university transfer from a college...much cheaper. Second, in your third year, attend SFU or UBC (University of British Columbia).

where the chinese go, they monopolize the real estate (they are crude people BUT smart and know the business and how to work 24/7) and local people who weren't owning a property BEFORE their arrival were and are fucked up. This happened where i live (hong kong), this happen where half of my family live (sydney), london, vancouver and so on. if you marry the capitalism you have to accept both sides of the same coin
