Nisha, it makes me so sad that people have had anything negative to say about you and your message, you were one of the first vegan youtubers I connected too watching online and you have been such an inspiration to me through my journey! I don't get how anyone can have a bad reaction to someone trying to create more accessibility, but you should know you are so appreciated by so many! And I hope you do continue learning new ways to veganize your favorite classic Indian dishes and sharing them with your channel because they are delicious and food should be an experience that imitates and adds to our lives, nothing is "cookie cutter" about it! It's given me so encouragement for how to veganize my family favorites, which is so helpful when I feel the struggle to stay on my path during family events where the pressure is real.

I think what people don't understand is that when you highlight your experiences, community or culture, its not about putting another culture down. It's about addressing the needs of your folks. Not every group has the same needs. It's okay to speak about it. It's okay to have pride in your differences. The important thing is you are a part of the discussion.

I just realized how much you girls could be the new cast of Pretty Little Liars lmao. As a cisgendered white woman this opened my eyes up a lot to how unknowingly privileged I am and how much more inclusive I aspire to be. I never would choose to harm anyone but I honestly hadn’t taken into consideration how little other cultures, genders, abilities , etc are being represented in the vegan community that I’m exposed to and it makes me want to reach out, expand and accomodate.

Thank you all so much for doing this video. I have been inspired to create more content about being a vegan on a budget. I am a single mom with a very picky teenage daughter who's mostly vegan but loves the faux meats. And as we know there is a lot of shaming in the vegan community if you're not a super healthy vegan. But faux meats are what made the transition so easy for me and my daughter and it's what is quick and easy for me. So I now know I need to share that more so others who can relate to me won't feel alone. And Nisha I'm so sorry you have experienced any hate or backlash. I honestly don't know what's wrong with people and I was shocked at what people have said to you. You are great and keep doing what you're doing. Much love to you all!

A Jewel Naturally I just subscribed to your channel. I struggle with my budget since going vegan. I am at work so much and my produce will often go bad. So it gets to where I try to only buy it when I know I'm going to eat it. And quick meals are definitely a thing of the past. lol
@NakiasHideaway6 жыл бұрын
Aw thank you! Trust me I get it. I work a full time job on top of being a single mom so quick meals are all I do. And I just make sure to buy my produce weekly and only buy what I know for sure I will eat. I get it. You are not alone. I had the same problems before going vegan, it's just now I know my quick meals are way healthier and not harming any animals or our planet.

I used to go to Burger King and get a $1 jr. Whopper with extra veggies minus the meat Patty. It was amazing. Ahhh THOSE were the days. 😂 Great vid. I ONLY wish there were vegan street fairs in Ga. We DO have quite a few vegan/raw vegan restaurants... But a street fair that we can full on participate in? THAT would be phenomenal! ❤ BTW I'm a black vegan. I've heard so much, but it's NEVER anything that I'm going to feel bad about. I LOVE being vegan and happen to be black. I love educating others who otherwise didn't necessarily grow up eating healthy/compassionate EITHER, but buttery, fatty, animal "seasoned" foods that there are an abundance of cruelty-free options.

I think veganism is accessible if you stick to whole, raw plant-based foods. But as far as eating out and grocery shopping for vegan specialty items, it is not very acessible for most people (depending, of course, upon where you live).

Hi everyone, if any of you are from Southern California, mainly near San Diego there is a pop up business called Amo Nakatl Asada and they are a 100% vegan Mexican food business. They mainly go to certified farmers markets but are hoping to open up their own restaurant but they lack the funds to purchase the equipment. They have a go fund me page that you can find in their bio of their instagram page. Their page is amo_nakatl_asada, please go and share your love on their page and go fund me if you can afford to do so. I am not a part of their company but I’ve had a chance to speak with the owners and they are the most kindhearted people I know and I would love to see their dream of a restaurant come true. Not to mention their food is to die for! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

@@txdave when I was broke, and omni, I cooked my food from scratch. Honestly beans and rice or tacos, homemade burgers or pasta. Was cheaper than $1 a meal.
@txdave6 жыл бұрын
afrikurl yeah but when you’re in college and don’t have time to cook 3 full meals a day it’s not cheap, if I spent my days cooking on top of a part time job, volunteering, extracurriculars like research I would not have been passing classes
@afrikurl6 жыл бұрын
@@txdave this was when I wasin college. I was a straight a student. I didn't cook every day. A big pot of spaghetti would be like 4 or 5 dollars or a big pot of chili. I would make meatloaf and mashed potatoes... again very cheap. 8 to 10 meals. I would eat it for lunch and dinner for a week. I used to eat oatmeal or cream of wheat for breakfast. Not very nutritious. Not very many fruits and veggies ( except a few oranges, apples and bananas) I also grew up very poor so this was my experience growing up too. To us, even the dollar menu was expensive. We almost never ate outside of home.
