As long as the o-ring is installed in the channel properly it will last a long time. The package also comes with an extra just in case and if you lose that one you can buy similar o-rings at the local hardware store for about five cents a piece. It's also worth noting the charging handle functions fine without the o-ring to charge the firearm.

I like mine.. A lifetime supply of spare rings cost $4 in Grainger for 100 of them. IF I can burn through 100 of them, I'm doing pretty good !

Had the OG version of this, the O ring fell out after charging it like 3 times. Maybe they fixed it? Kinda doubt it. Newer Gas Busters by PRI are cheaper and work; and Griffin gen 2 CH works even better. SC makes some good cans but this one is a no go for me...unless they fixed the O ring.

Yes it is an updated design. The original had roll pins that could wiggle loose under recoil. These have been replaced with screws in the current version and are rock solid. The o-ring seal is also solid and will last a long time, but the package also comes with an extra just in case and if you lose that one you can buy similar o-rings at the local hardware store for about five cents a piece.

That is correct. The original had roll pins that could wiggle loose under recoil. These have been replaced with screws in the current version and are rock solid.

Is this an upgraded design? I have read a lot past reviews claiming that seal at the bottom falls out easily.

It sure doesn't! The original roll pin design was quickly updated to use screws which are rock solid. If you have a previous roll pin version hit up our customer service and we will get it swapped out with the new one!

Nobody on the market has a Charging Handle that utilizes an O-ring to seal off gas from exiting the space between the handle and lower which is where the majority of gas exists. Try any other gas defeating charging handle side by side and you'll quite literally feel the difference.

One more point of failure. Watch the grizz hunting vid where a stuck primer in the action about caused 2 deaths......(O ring piece in the bolt carrier)
