Thank you! Yeah thumbs been crazy lately and won’t cure by the cuticle for some reason, not on the side.. I’ve applied thin layers, but when I wipe the top coat, half of that cuticle gel is gone, as if I didn’t polish it close enough. It’s very frustrating as clients don’t like that gap, and even as I reapplied was the same 🤷🏻♀️💅🏻

HELP!!! What brand of led nail lamp would you recommend? I’ve tried 3 different lamps. They either don’t cure my nails at all or take FOREVER to cure!!! The last one I bought was the Sally Hansen nail lamp with the Sally Hansen gel polish and it takes way too long to cure. And I use the base coat and thin coats of polish. I’ve looked up other lamps on Amazon and they all seem to have hundreds of bad reviews. So what’s the best lamp to cure any gel polish brand? Ive noticed three things that cause this myself. Really old gels that could do with chucking out are more likely to do this. The side of the thumbs and little fingers, has happened to me a few times and I looked at the lamp…so many clients lift fingers up and ruin nails by touching lamp..and the gel then sets on the bulbs and stops them curing the nails so have to remove that. Also, it happened immediately with a new gel on all nails and upon inspection it actually smelled like acetone. Someone in the store had actually used some acetone or nail polish thinner to sell it after all the lockdowns and stuff started going gunky 😵💫

I just looked online to see if there are any issues and I do notice that it states very specifically it is a UV gel polish which could mean that an LED light will not cure it. The Polish needs a UV light which is odd because these days most gel polish is both UV and LED.

Happens to me a lot, especially with cheapo Amazon and Ebay gels like Parkson, Arte Clavo and MTSSII. And Essie Blanc white polish, which would not dry and smudged too much! A good HACK is to add a little polish thinner like Seche Restore. I added a drop of NON ACETONE nail polish remover! Its annoying. Another hack is to add Zoya Fast Dry drops after you paint your polish and BEFORE you add your topcoat! Why? The gel/nail polish is rock hard dry, then you can gently FILE the polish off and apply more polish! Works for me! Another hack is to add a bit of glitter, nail art and nail stickers to patch up the messy nail part! QUICK dry drops like Zoya Fast Dry drops are my secret weapon! Dry polish can be filed down and reapplied, add some glitter or stickers etc. Sticky polish is a nightmare! UK 🇬🇧😍💅😀🎄14.12.24

First time this ever happened to me. Client fingers were ice cold, gel would start acting weird before it went in light to cure and then the gel was not curing. I used three different white gels and they all performed the same. I did a client before her and nothing was wrong. The only thing that was different was the clients fingers were ice cold. Had her warm them up in bathroom but she came out still ice cold. it was crazy. I don't know what I did wrong. Only thing different was clients hands where freezing cold. How cold like she was throwing snow balls bare hand and just came inside.
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
I definitely don’t know if that’s some thing that could affect the curing of gel polish. I would say pay attention to how the client rests her hands inside the light make sure she is placing her hands completely flat and that she is fully under the light. Some people can be a little I guess you could say lazy with how they put their hands inside the light they are way to relaxed they don’t keep it flat and it can definitely affect the light reaching the nail polish to cure. I have a lot of cold hands in the shop and I haven’t noticed a difference but something I’ll definitely pay attention to 😉

@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
Many times when the gel polish is not curing all the way it’s because the nail lamp is not strong enough could be just a very low wattage lamp that just isn’t strong or could be that the light has already started burning out. When it’s not the LED light it’s the gel polish coats being too thick.

With gel polish you really need to use a gel topcoat. I would suggest making sure the gel polish color is very cured and wiping off the inhibition layer (The sticky residue left behind after the polish is cured, you can remove this with alcohol) before applying a regular topcoat however you really should not mix the two because there could definitely be issues with the wear

That happens sometimes and honestly I’m not exactly sure why . Could be debris on the nail plate or in the bottle itself / or application brush. Could be something to do with chemical composition. For some odd reason I bought a whole bunch of new OPI colors and they don't care unless I put the top coat so meaning let's say I want to do a design on top of the color I can't I should put a top coat first because it's going to smear the color it's buildable yes I'm able to do the layers ballistic I accidentally placed my hand it will smear and I will have to suck I don't know what's going on with OPI or are they doing this so that we buy their lamps
@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
The gel polish should definitely be cured but the layers do have an inhibition layer which is a sticky layer after it cures when I’m doing art I simply wipe the nail with an alcohol wipe just enough to remove the residue, do my art and then topcoat. You can definitely apply a topcoat even Matt topcoat before doing art but unless you’re going for a specific effect definitely not necessary 😉

Most of the time it Hass to do with the preparation of your nails before you polish the gel. But you also want to make sure that you were using a high wattage LED lamp 36 or higher wants tends to be very good quality curing anything that is 6 W nine wants and 12 W 10 to not be a very strong cure but if you’re having issues with product completely popping off the nail plate it really has to do more with the nail prep definitely check out my videos on polishing to perfection and waterless manicure I’ll be touching up on the subjects really soon but those go through my manicure process and what you need to ensure a good long lasting manicure

Also make sure that your light has not worn out it might still turn on but no longer have the same power so it cures slower and with less intensity which can also contribute to wrinkling

@TheNaturalNailGuru2 жыл бұрын
Yellow definitely tends to be a very pigmented color so the thicker the gel polish consistency is the more likely you are to feel the heat spike. The best you can do to minimize and possibly avoid it completely is making sure to apply thin coats and tempering the cure which means put your hand in the light and after one second of it being on take it out wait two or three seconds put it back in for a second or two take it out and repeat that process four or five times before just leaving your hand in there to finish curing.
