I share some lawn care tips to help get your lawn ready for winter. Unfortunately, this tips can't all be applied a few days before the cold weather arrives. Proper lawn care throughout the year can go a long way toward helping your lawn handle the cold weather during winter months. Cool season grasses probably benefit much more from a fall fertilizer application or a winterizer than a warm season lawns such as bermuda or zoysia. Enjoy the tips!

Ive foind that pre emergent really slows down growth tje folowing spring. I let the cool season weeds win amd let a healthy lawn choke them out when it gets warm

Here’s what the google AI thing says. Pre-emergent and post-emergent are two types of herbicides used to control weeds in lawns: Pre-emergent
Prevents weeds from sprouting by creating a barrier in the soil that stops weed seeds from growing. Pre-emergents are best for annual weeds like crabgrass, but they don't work well on perennial weeds with deep root systems. 





 Post-emergent
Kills weeds that are already growing by traveling down the plant stalk and into the root system. Post-emergents should be used after weeds have started to grow in the spring, and again in late fall to prevent weeds from coming back the following year. 





 Using both pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides is an effective way to control weeds. Pre-emergents are a proactive approach, while post-emergents are reactive. For best results, apply pre-emergent twice at the beginning of the year, and post-emergent whenever you see weeds.
