Mom of 8 here, just love that Fr. Pine said, “you don’t want to spend your time going from fire to fire, well moms do this for like 25 years straight” lol!! Yes! So true and love that he said it’s a noble undertaking! It is! Currently in that phase! Thanks for these videos, Fr. Pine!

Mom of 8 here too! My youngest is 4 now, and I'm down to like 97 fires a day from 150. Ha ha!

Since I was diagnosed with negative schizophrenia my world" kind of vanished". Who am I, what am I for etc, those questions mean nothing to me anymore; it's all, how can I put it, "blank". Getting out of home has been very hard, my avolition and anhedonia contribute for my absence in holy mass. I cannot focus anymore, and sloth may have a part in this. In the end I hope to make it to purgatory. May God give me the grace to regain my strengh and focus to properly attend mass. Sorry, I just wanted to take it out of my chest, keep up the good work. Kudos from Brazil.

My big rocks: homeschooling 4 children under the age of 7; prayer with family every day; home made food every meal; going to mass at least once a week. My medium rocks: saving money wherever I can; small prayers throughout the day when I can; keep the house in good clean condition. My small rocks: socializing with family friends; one-on-one time with each of my children; exercise on early mornings; helping at the parish whenever I am able. Often I think my schedule is too busy, that I don't have time for the spontaneity of God's work, helping my neighbour. Is it wrong for me to focus on the 6 closest people in my life, as we work hard like pioneers to raise our children? Is prayer for the weary souls that I can't help enough? I think of John Milton's sonnet "On His Blindness."

Of course it's not wrong. Marriage is your vocation, your ministry and your children are your mission, so you are like a missionary to them.

I like that you made this list. I enjoyed contemplating it and what my different rocks would be. Thank you.❤ ❤

“Who’s it for? What’s He think about it? What’s He got to say about it?” Liking that as a jumping off point. It somehow makes entering into recollection a more concrete thing. On the struggle bus over here, having to have a relationship with One who isn’t physically present in the way we sense basically every other “other” in our lives. So yeah, thanks for that nugget. A little boost to get further up, further in.

I also see these questions as a way to reconcile being both results-driven and being a mom xD Alright, Lord. Feed my need for results! It’s 12:38am, and there’s a three-year old attached to my person as a barnacle to a ship. And it’s certainly all for You! So, whatcha thinking? Whatcha gotta say? in the words of Chaka Khan…”tell me something good…” I expect it will include something about putting the phone down and trying to get back to sleep…and to be grateful these barnacles are snuggly 😆

Guilty as charged. When people ask me how my day went my usual reply is a litany of boxes I checked and tasks I’ve completed. Occasionally I’ll throw in an adjective such good or great. 🥶

I like to plan my work days, but free time... man, it's bad. I try to leave some time for relationships, but there aren't many, outside of family, and how many hours can you spend with your parents? Loneliness is tough, I guess.

I didnt go to your festival this weekend past - was actually on my way down there Friday, but when reaching metro center got some odd calls from kansas out of the blue which made me feel unsafe. A few days prior, a lady, out of the blue, pulled her van over and asked me 'do you know what a targeted individual is?' my immediate thought was 'are you in danger, maam?' but in that second of thought she drove away. I think i made the right decision, though i regret missing the content. Odd stuff about, people acting like goblins cackling in a fog. -- Omlettes at 0530 a good start to a day.

This kind of content applies to an extremely select few people. Most people have no autonomy over their time. They work 40+ hours a week, and can rarely choose when they take a lunch...or a piss for that matter.
@jessr16985 ай бұрын
Doesn't hurt to have it for those who need it
@hellebartelsen82085 ай бұрын
That still leaves at least 120 hours in a week. I know very few people who work 40+ hours, so I think you are exaggerating a bit.
@MeMyOwnSelf5 ай бұрын
@hellebartelsen8208 What? 40 is basically the minimum standard. What country do you live in? Literally every friend of I have, every family member I have, nearly everyone that is close to me works 40 hours. It's extremely common.
@hellebartelsen82085 ай бұрын
@@MeMyOwnSelf Denmark, we have a 37 hours work week. And what about retired people, students, children, people who work reduced time, have debilitating pain or health issues? That can't count as "extremely few". And even if you work many hours, you can still use what free time you have wisely.
@MeMyOwnSelf5 ай бұрын
@jessr1698 I don't disagree. It's still worth publishing the content. I'm just saying it applies to an incredibly few people. Then again, I'm the USA, so perhaps the full-time schedule for folks in other countries is not a full 40 hours. I dunno.
