However that doesn't prevent that Ishmael is a Prophet and his descendants are as well, even Jesus Christ has prophecised that a person will come after him and Christians must follow him, Prophet Muhammed is the only one fit to be the person that Jesus Christ was talking about, it was said that this person will be asked to read and he will reply that he isn't a reader, or isn't taught how to, and Prophet Muhammed has fulfilled that, so Jesus Christ was most definitely talking about Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon them both, and Prophet Muhammed's Prophethood was actually asked from Abraham and Ishmael (PBUTB) in the Qur'an, they asked that Allah would send a Prophet to Arabs to teach them Allah's words, and it happened, Allah has sent Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

@@moemenelafandi Greetings brother. Please take a moment to read Isaiah 29, which is where the verse you are quoting comes from, especially verses 1-13. This is in relation to the "illiterate" person. Context is very important. I pray that what you read will inspire you to search deeper and seek the wisdom of YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). Blessings to you.

And you don't think there is a possibility that the stiff necks changed their scriptures to their suitings? They clearly denied Prophet Jesus for their self invested interests, even though their are clear prophecies in book of Isaiah? They racist and prejudice even had the a ability to change the new testament , where the crucificion / "murder" was charged to atonement? When high priest , Caiaphas was after Prophet Jesus , becase they were in involved in usury, to the extent, that they were committing this sin openly inside the temple, and he Prophet Jesus forbid them?! As a Muslim it doesn't make any difference if it was Prophet Issac or Prophet Ishmael. Because Muslims do not differentiate any of the true Prophets, but we are made to follow the most recent and the last Prophet, Prophet Muhammad!

Abraham Tested 22 Sometime later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love-Isaac-and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” 3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.” 6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” 8 Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together. 9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” 13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” 15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring[b] all nations on earth will be blessed,[c] because you have obeyed me.” 19 Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba. Nahor’s Sons 20 Some time later Abraham was told, “Milkah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor: 21 Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram), 22 Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.” 23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milkah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor. 24 His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also had sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maakah.

Good recap for study and reflection; particularly from the human rights and what the courts may decide on family matters if contested. Thanks Dr Ally. Here are some main leads Genesis 16: The birth of Ishmael (Revised New Jerusalem Bible) - Henry Wansbrough footnote says Ishmael means 'May God listen!' and Quran 2/136 in Al Baqarsh (The Heifer) and Abdullah Yusuf Ali's footnote refers to the 'Creed of Islam'. Ends with the summary: "Their message (in essentials) was one, and that is the basis of Islam" . Pope Francis' line: Respect what is true and holy in other faiths.

It sounds like the 2 books are "he said, she said" on this. Did God mess up by making the illegitimate son also be the firstborn and therefore the chosen one, or is Satan taking advantage of the confusion? I predict both books say God doesn't make mistakes. Since this guy said it's not clear which son was sacrificed in the Quran (a gigantic omission) and interpreters have gone both ways, but the Bible conclusively names Isaac, God must have chosen Isaac.

so you prefer the sentiment that God is racist & bigot by confirming Ishak/Isaac AS as the special one just because Ismail was a child of a servant, despite him being firstborn & have as much as legitimacy?? Truly what you expect from the misguided ones, the highest order of blasphemy to God. Bear in mind that in Islam, both Ismail AS & Ishak AS are prophets & they have their own balance roles to spread god's messages in which unfortunately can't say the same with current Torah & Bible human inspired writings. Also, the Quranic verses stated "the son of Ibrahim," not the sons of Ibrahim, in which a very strong argument that the timeline matched with the non-sacrificial event happened during the time of the firstborn Ismail, not the time of Ishak in which by that time Ismail already an adult (aka survived). Add to the psychological analysis standpoint for the event. Ibrahim AS was without children for many years, so it make so much sense that the firstborn child Ismail being supposedly sacrificed was his biggest test of faith as there is no doubt he love his first child very dearly. Every contexts about the sacrificial event story majorly supported the belief that was Ismail AS, not Ishak AS. This special race one argument also why there are disputes between Bani Ismael & Bani Israel as Jews always claims they are the special children when in fact God's messages are for all mankind (& djinns) & they are all in equal terms. This is also the fundamental reason for Zionists to deflects their crimes against humanity, especially Palestinians, witness by the whole world, while the church & UN do nothing but instead condoning/supporting it.

This is huge!!! Because Didn’t all the prophets come through Abraham’s promised son Issac? If so then where would Muhammad fit into all of this? This would be a great divide in linage, which from what it sounds is vital; if Muhammad isn’t from Issac’s linage, it changes the credibility of Islam. I’m not trying to make anyone mad, I’m just trying to piece things together.

I like listening to Dr. Shabir speak. Unfortunately, the Koran concerning Ishmael, is quite thin in the known history department. The account of Abraham and his sons, is completely validated in the Masoretic text, The Samaritan Pentateuch, and the Alexandrian Septuagint. All three witnesses are 500 to 800 years older than the Koran. This is a matter of history. Additionally, the Jews (masoretic text) and Samaritans hated eachother, and when their versions of the scripture say the same thing about the same people, it's very difficult to take the Koran seriously concerning what it would like to assert contrary to those texts. This isnt a matter of disagreement on theology, or doctrine, but a fact of history.

@@goldsaint7 Are you really that hardheaded? Didn't you just read what I wrote? The world at large has 3 different witnesses on the account Abraham. @@goldsaint7your first questions are meaning less. I can ask you the same questions to you. What if history is right and Koran is wrong? What if, what if, what if, gets you no where. The fact is, is that 3 different witnesses, 3 different languages, 2 of the 3 hating eachother , and they say same thing. You're not going to convince me that 3 witnesses, 800 years closer to the event, are wrong, and stand alone Koran is correct, that has no connection or chain of custody to the event.

@@omaar5693 And Abraham lived 2800 years before the Koran. What's your point? The New Testament Verifies Abraham went to take Issac as a sacrifice as well. So there is a fourth witness 600 years before the Koran. Issac sacrifice was a prophetic shadow of Jesus being sacrificed on the cross. Which you guys deny as well. Jesus the Son, sacrificed on the cross, by God the father, was played out by Abraham (the father) sacrificing Isaac "the son". The whole crucifixion of Jesus, was shown over and over all throughout the Old Testament as the one sacrifice to pay for the sins of the world. Abraham did what he did, as an act of faith, showing all the nations of the world, how God was going to reconcile himself with mankind and his creation.

Listen, the Bible was written not for primitive man, but for the 21st century and beyond. It is shockingly clear on matters that are relevant now but seemed irrelevant centuries ago. This is why he seems to be so harsh with Ishmael, not because he is unjust, but because he had a clear message for future generations.
