If you put a vacuum line on the can straw you can reach the cylinders easier same with putting it on the end of a funnel so you can drop in some marvel or ATF in the cylinders

Not bad for 38 years old. That windshield looks newer, I wonder if they messed up the gaskets. Still has the AC box and compressor, which is good. It’s nice that is a short bed as well. I like the Hoops or most people call them Rims.

Glad u figured it out. I'm working on my 84 now myself. Ended up with burnt valve cracked exhaust manifold and head. So swapping to another 250 inline 6 head I had new so hope that fixes the problem with it not running good. Also going to be picking up another engine from a 64 c10 for the head and exhaust and just parts. May be a good runner after a fresh set of gaskets and seals but we'll see. Keep on saving the old ones and stay safe out there. Sorry about your Karen experience. Ive ran across my fair share to lol.

Dude You got one fantastic deal. I have seen many times that happens. People do this with shims because the starter would be stronger for higher compression but when you don't shim It rite they bind. Nice job and can't wait to see the next video on this old truck.

This is a never been ran rebuilt engine. The guy that "Changed the cam" did WAY more work then he let on. I strongly recommend that you pull that oil pan and make sure the rods and main caps are actually torqued.

So he said it didn’t run right after the cam swap, I’d double check the valve adjustment cause he could have had a Ford guy work on it. Lol! Then check the timing. But from the look of those pistons it hadn’t ran very long if at all.

305 small flywheel starter on a large flywheel 350. I've seen this before. He probably couldn't figure out why the other bolt wouldn't go in. Probably never got it running after the engine swap, the cylinders looked like it had never run after the rebuild or didn't run for long. Some people don't know that there are two different starters for sbc's. I feel bad for the guy.

I used to have an 1984 long bed with a 305 in it. It wasn't a bad old truck but the timing must have been off right before I traded it off because it sounded really odd going down the highway. Hard to explain but it was like a cyclical humming noise. I traded it for a 1997 Monte Carlo Z34. lol.

You got to be realistic about your capabilities sometimes and unlike alot of guys Gary realized it was time to let it go before it was completely destroyed. The dot tells the engine assembler which way the piston goes to the front of the block.
