The whole band rocks. Their individual ability and talents combined in an exponential manner making Big Country an amazing band, especially live... Stuart started a fire in his soul... burnt brightly and with amazing warmth.. but sadly ran out of fuel (reasons) and the fire died. Luckily thanks to KZbin we can relive and enjoy those magic times.... especially Barrowlands live :)

I was fortunate to see Big Country three times... and they were amongst the best bands I've seen... way better than the so-called bigger bands at the time. Tony Butler and Mark Brzezick's bass and drums are the best and tightest you'll hear... Stewart's and Bruce's guitar riffs and harmonies were unique and unlike anything else. But it was Stewarts songs and melodies and presence that cemented the band... he would have every single person in the audience bouncing and singing for him with hearts full of joy... then during a quieter song, his lyrics would grab you and have you biting your lip... and praying your mates don't notice what a soft shite you are. 'In This Place' from their Peace In Our Time album gets me every time. Anyway... anyone that's been to a Big County gig or has any of their albums will know what I mean. You'll never be forgotten Stuart Adamson... Scotland's finest

Sheps with a "P," " and "people who are not afraid to admit that they have a referee's whistle." Stuart had such a great sense of humor and he was so kind to his audience. Many performers would be offended at such an "interruption," but Stuart embraced it and made it part of the fun. Thanks, Stu!!!

To hear this song and know he died alone is heartbreaking. And such a talented singer, musician and songwriter, perhaps he could have shown Nashville a thing or two :(

Some so-so musicians are lauded after they die. Hagographies proliferate, they're almost sainted, yet little is ever mentioned about Stuart Adamson. He was as tortured as Ian Curtis, Kurt Cobain etc but there aren't the shrines and tributes to him the way there are for others (I mean media-wise.). He was one of the great all-round musicians and touched people deeply with his words, his name should be on the lips of everyone who dares to write songs or picks up a guitar. Under-appreciated in life and death.
