Be careful with the 401K withdrawal... you're gonna get hit with a 20% penalty off top and you'll have to pay tax on the distribution because you've received pre-tax benefit when you pay into your 401K.

you can usually get a loan of up to 50k too if you are still working for the same company you have to pay it back to yourself basically plus interest though. If you dont pay it then it is treated as a withdrawal.

@@oladeebiazazi4538 Bruh. They are still separate things. If your property tax goes higher your mortgage stays the same. The City gets the taxes, the mortgage company gets the mortgage. If you don't have enough equity they will be collected together. The mortgage company does not want you to fall behind on your taxes, the city take your property and they are left holding the bag. Once you have enough equity the mortgage company is confident that if you lose the home to taxes, the sell of the home to pay the city their taxes will leave enough for them to get their money. Typically (not always) when your property tax goes higher the value of properties in the area have gone higher so that's not all bad. Value went up 2020 while rates were low. By 2022 everybody's taxes and insurance went up. Replacement cost for insurance as material costs went higher, and value of the property.

buying a 3 family is the smartest thing you can do starting out if you can get it for real. He is right about owning vs renting for the most part too, but know your mortgage will go up too just not as fast as rent usually if you have a mortgage because the insurance and taxes usually go up. The taxes usually get capped based on your income unless you live in a red state probably. I could have got a 2 family for 50k back in 08. I regret not jumping on that joint.
