Ishmael Beah, is a very bright and talented young man, his life story growing up in Sierra Leon when the civil war was not even started was simple and very family oriented but when the civil war erupted his life changed. From a young happy kid to a kid scared for his life from bullets, and to become one of the soldier forced to kill people it was just unthinkable how he had survived his ordeal. His book is fantastic, and he speak eloquently with young people proud to share them his life story, and now a very distinguished writer and advocate for peace around the world. He is a very remarkable human being who has nothing but love to everyone.

i’ve always wondered what became of Lieutenant Jabati, it seemed to me that he did care somewhat for Ishmael he refused to let him die when he was wounded, and selected him for rehabilitation.Im curious to know if Ishmael ever learned anything about the LTs fate
