I give Isiah credit because he is right that Max needed to get the story right. It was Rodman that made the comments about Bird. Isiah just agreed with him. I just wish that Isiah would get the story right about the Celtics walking off the court. He keeps bringing up that story but negates to mention that the game was in Detroit and that some fans and photographers had rushed onto the court before the game ended which is why the Celtic players on the bench left the court. Kevin McHale actually shook hands or fist bumped several Piston players as he left the court. It wasn't the same as when the Pistons did it to the Bulls. He needs to be consistent about making sure that people get the story right.

I think Mike is mad at the Pistons with how they treated him on the court with all those hard fouls and the fights and throwing him down to the floor. I remember the play when Rodman tried to undercut Pippen when he went up for a layup. They were dirty! They were literally trying to hurt them. That's now how basketball should be played. That's the NFL not the NBA even the NFL ain't like that anymore!

I'm a big Larry Bird fan. He laid it all out on the court, sacrificed his body and trashed talked to his foes but they all seem to let it slide because Bird has never changed. He has always been honest about basketball being a black man's game. He stood up for Isiah at the press conference. He supported Magic when he went public with his HIV diagnosis. He called Barkley and supported him when Sir Charles got a DUI. He even hired Chuck Person when Larry was with the Pacers! He coached the Pacers for only 3 years, just as he said, even though he had outstanding results during that time. Not everyone loves Larry (Laimbeer and Dr. J come to mind) but the vast majority of his peers have great respect for him.

Isiah not perfect but I'd rather be a champion than be in the pile of greats like Malone Barkley D. Wilkins etc....the Pistons did what they had to do to win like it or love it. Magic even got rough with Isiah when they played the first time in their finals match up. The end of the day he's a bank 2 back champion and sometimes alot of people may not like you for what you had to go threw to achieve ultimate greatness and success. This rivalry will be in people's mind and thoughts for generations to come. I respect Micheal for overcoming the Bad Boys and I respect The Bad Boys for finally overcoming the great Lakers and Celtic teams. Michael Jordan should be the bigger person and not crying how the Detroit pistons didn't shake the bulls hands after the bulls defeated the pistons. The truth when the Boston Celtics loss to the Detroit Pistons. This is history 101 Basically passing the torch just saying America.

@@fury_021 He can, and should forget it because it NEVER HAPPENED. He was not "physically" hampered, but his ego certainly was. He won 6 titles and is a billionaire. Hypothetical reality is delusion and soon develops into metal dysfunction. Mike's ego is bruised. How do you stroke a 30 year self-inflicted wound?? Let it go, 'cause it ain't real. Its a misuse of the imagination. Now you're carrying the burden for him.

Hey MJ was literally assaulted by the Pistons bad boys. The mans livelihood was put at risk. The NBA was out of control. The great commissioner was MIA. No way I’d ever be cool playing basketball and being assaulted. Chuck Daily the league KC Jones all at fault. That said Jordan was forced to transform his body along with Pippen thus becoming the greatest duo the league has ever seen. But where was the league ?

Stephen A Smith please, don't even begin to compare Bird to the Bad Boys Pistons...the Pistons were trying to end those guys careers. That's how violent they were. So, it's understandable if those guys don't want to have nothing to do with the Pistons... Look, I realize Isiah Thomas doesn't want to play that role anymore but back in the day, they were proud to BE THE BAD BOYS...they didn't care. Now they care for their legacies and try to change the narrative. BS

The Pistons made it PERSONAL. They bullied the Bulls. They beat up Jordon. When the Bulls finally beat them, they responded with the ultimate disrespect. Walking off the court without acknowledging the Bulls. Since it was personal, Jordan has the right to hold the grudge for as long as he wasn’t. It is his prerogative.

I still see Isiah is still hurt over not being on the The Dream Team, when the majority of the players selected are against you playing on the team that says a lot. People thought it was just Mike and Scottie, man Malone, Magic, Bird and the majority of the team didn't want him there. Chuck Daly didn't protest or try to select Isiah himself that speaks to the hatred that the Bad Boys created.

Then the next question you get to is; because of the quality of teams in the 80s: is getting 3 rings out of the 80s east vs the 90s east that much harder. I think it was .

If Jordan ended his grudge and rivalry with Bird and not with Isaiah, then Jordan has a double standard. Everyone else in the league back then bowed down to Jordan, Isaiah and the Pistons didn't which is probably why Jordan still hates Isaiah.
