Creation of the Universe in Six Days As per the Bible, in the first book of Genesis in Chapter One, the universe was created in six days and each day is defined as a twenty-four hours period. Even though the Qur’an mentions that the universe was created in six ‘Ayyaams’, ‘Ayyaam’ is the plural of years; this word has two meanings: firstly, it means a standard twenty-four hours period i.e. a day, and secondly, it also means stage, period or epoch which is a very long period of time. When the Qur’an mentions that the universe was created in six ‘Ayyaams’, it refers to the creation of the heavens and the earth in six long periods or epochs; scientists have no objection to this statement. The creation of the universe has taken billions of years, which proves false or contradicts the concept of the Bible which states that the creation of the Universe took six days of twenty-four hour durations each. b) Sun Created After the Day The Bible says in chapter 1, verses 3-5, of Genesis that the phenomenon of day and night was created on the first day of creation of the Universe by God. The light circulating in the universe is the result of a complex reaction in the stars; these stars were created according to the Bible (Genesis chapter 1 verse 14 to 19) on the fourth day. It is illogical to mention the result that is the light (the phenomenon of day and night) was created on the first day of Creation when the cause or source of the light was created three days later. Moreover the existence of evening and morning as elements of a single day is only conceivable after the creation of the earth and its rotation around the sun. In contrast with the contents of the Bible on this issue, the Qur’an does not give any unscientific sequence of Creation. Hence it is absolutely absurd to say that Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) copied the passages pertaining to the creation of the universe from the Bible but missed out this illogical and fantastic sequence of the Bible. c) Creation of the Sun, The Earth and the Moon According to the Bible, Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verses 9 to 13, the earth was created on the third day, and as per verses 14 to 19, the sun and the moon were created on the fourth day. The earth and the moon emanated, as we know, from their original star, the Sun. Hence to place the creation of the sun and the moon after the creation of the earth is contrary to the established idea about the formation of the solar system. d) Vegetation Created on the third day and Sun on the fourth day According to the Bible, Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verses 11-13, vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as has been stated in the Bible? If Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) was indeed the author of the Qur’an and had copied its contents from the Bible, how did he manage to avoid the factual errors that the Bible contains? The Qur’an does not contain any statements which are incompatible with scientific facts. e) The Sun and the Moon both Emit light According to the Bible both the sun and the moon emit their own light. In the Book of Genesis, chapter 1, verse 16 says, "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night". Science tells us today that the moon does not have its own light. This confirms the Qur’anic concept that the light of the moon is a reflected light. To think that 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) corrected these scientific errors in the Bible and then copied such corrected passages in the Qur’an is to think of something impossible. 11. ADAM (PBUH), THE FIRST MAN ON EARTH, LIVED 5,800 YEARS AGO As per the genealogy of Jesus Christ given in the Bible, from Jesus through Abraham (pbuh) to the first man on earth i.e. Adam (pbuh), Adam appeared on the earth approximately 5800 years ago: 1948 years between Adam (pbuh) and Abraham (pbuh) Approximately 1800 years between Abraham (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh) 2000 years from Jesus (pbuh) till today These figures are further confused by the fact that the Jewish calendar is currently on or about 5800 years old. There is sufficient evidence from archaeological and anthropological sources to suggest that the first human being on earth was present tens of thousands of years ago and not merely 5,800 years ago as is suggested by the Bible. The Qur’an too speaks about Adam (pbuh) as the first man on earth but it does not suggest any date or period of his life on earth, unlike the Bible - what the Bible says in this regard is totally incompatible with science. 12. NOAH (PBUH) AND THE FLOOD The Biblical description of the flood in Genesis chapter 6, 7 and 8 indicates that the deluge was universal and it destroyed every living thing on earth, except those present with Noah (pbuh) in the ark. The description suggests that the event took place 1656 years after the creation of Adam (pbuh) or 292 years before the birth of Abraham, at a time when Noah (pbuh) was 600 years old. Thus the flood may have occurred in the 21st or 22nd Century B.C. This story of the flood, as given in the Bible, contradicts scientific evidence from archaelogical sources which indicate that the eleventh dynasty in Egypt and the third dynasty in Babylonia were in existence without any break in civilisation and in a manner totally unaffected by any major calamity which may have occurred in the 21st century B.C. This contradicts the Biblical story that the whole world had been immersed in the flood water. In contrast to this, the Qur’anic presentation of the story of Noah and the flood does not conflict with scientific evidence or archaeological data; firstly, the Qur’an does not indicate any specific date or year of the occurance of that event, and secondly, according to the Qur’an the flood was not a universal phenomenon which destroyed complete life on earth. In fact the Qur’an specifically mentions that the flood was a localised event only involving the people of Noah. It is illogical to assume that Prophet Muhummad (pbuh) had borrowed the story of the flood from the Bible and corrected the mistakes before mentioning it in the Qur’an. 13. MOSES (PBUH) AND PHARAOH OF THE EXODUS The story of Moses (pbuh) and the Pharaoh of the Exodus are very much identical in the Qur’an and the Bible. Both scriptures agree that the Pharaoh drowned when he tried to pursue Moses (pbuh) and led the Israelites across a stretch of water that they crossed. The Qur’an gives an additional piece of information in Surah Yunus chapter 10 verse 92: "This day shall We save thee in thy body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! But verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!" [Al-Qur’an 10:92] Dr. Maurice Bucaille, after a thorough research proved that although Rameses II was known to have persecuted the Israelites as per the Bible, he actually died while Moses (pbuh) was taking refuge in Median. Rameses II’s son Merneptah who succeeded him as Pharaoh drowned during the exodus. In 1898, the mummified body of Merneptah was found in the valley of Kings in Egypt. In 1975, Dr. Maurice Bucaille with other doctors received permission to examine the Mummy of Merneptah, the findings of which proved that Merneptah probably died from drowning or a violent shock which immediately preceeded the moment of drowning. Thus the Qur’anic verse that we shall save his body as a sign, has been fulfilled by the Pharaohs’ body being kept at the Royal Mummies room in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. This verse of the Qur’an compelled Dr. Maurice Bucaille, who was a Christian then, to study the Qur’an. He later wrote a book ‘The Bible, the Qur’an and Science’, and confessed that the author of the Qur’an can be no one else besides God Himself. Thus he embraced Islam. 14. QUR’AN IS A BOOK FROM ALLAH These evidences are sufficient to conclude that the Qur’an was not copied from the Bible, but that the Qur’an is the Furqaan - ‘the Criteria’ to judge right from wrong and it should be used to decipher which portion of the Bible may be considered as the Word of God. The Qur’an itself testifies in Surah Sajda chapter 32 verse 1 to 3 Alif Laam Meem. (This is) the revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds. Or do they say, ‘He has forged it’? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance." [Al-Qur’an 32:1-3]

Islam, as a faith, embodies a profound tapestry of beliefs, practices, and values that resonate with millions across the globe. At its core, it emphasizes the principles of peace, compassion, and community. The notion of "Ummah" or community is central to Islamic teaching, encouraging a sense of belonging and mutual support among believers. This idea fosters unity, promoting social justice and charitable acts, two cornerstones that encourage individuals to care for one another, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. Moreover, Islam advocates for the pursuit of knowledge and understanding, urging its followers to seek wisdom and education. The historical contributions of Muslim scholars to various fields, including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy, showcase a rich intellectual tradition. This commitment to learning has not only shaped the Muslim world but has also significantly influenced global civilization. In this light, Islam exemplifies a thirst for knowledge that is not just encouraged but is a fundamental aspect of faith. Furthermore, Islam's diverse interpretations and practices reflect its adaptability in different cultural contexts. This multi-story mindset allows for a rich variety of expressions within the faith, emphasizing that while the core tenets of Islam remain unchanged, the ways in which they are practiced can vary widely. From the Sufi embrace of spirituality to the more orthodox practices for daily life, this diversity is a testament to Islam's ability to resonate with people from various backgrounds and experiences. This plurality fosters dialogue and understanding, demonstrating that Islam can coexist with a myriad of perspectives and lifestyles. In embracing a multi-story mindset, we can appreciate the nuances of Islam and recognize its capacity to inspire goodwill, promote ethical conduct, and nourish the human spirit. Ultimately, Islam, viewed through these many lenses, reveals itself as a faith that champions peace, knowledge, and unity, encouraging believers and non-believers alike to strive for a harmonious existence.

She mentioned that Sheaa pray 3 time a day , which is not true , they pray 5 prayers but in three times a day > They combine them 2 + 2 +1 . each 2 pray , they pray end of time of one and pray start time of the other . Jihad ( as I am pure Arab and speak the accent of Prophet Mohammed ) means ( Hard Action purely dedicated to Allah ) . This action determined by your situation . For example if you have your old parents , your kind service to them is jihad. If you sick and still you go to Mosque to pray 5 times a day is jihad . If a lady with Hijab within comunity hates Hijab , she is in jihad . If your country invaded by enemy , this jihad tells you to fight to liberate your country.

Well sis you might have good knowledge about islam but I can see you have only picked up current worldly cultures i.e liberalism, feminism, LGBT rights, and you justifying it according to islam just like before people has used Jihad accordingly and without even going deep What Quran and prophet Muhammad said about it. That's just alteration of islam or modernism of Islam as per current scenario. But that's not what islam is, Quran is a book of theories of past, that time present and future events which speak about every subject of human life or regarding any human activities that can happen during anyone's lifetime, what's your understanding is that if the followers of islam can do whatever they want doesn't matter what actually Quran or prophet says about it then I can do the same, but what truth is that if you want see islam, don't judge it on the basis of its followers because nobody has taken guarantee that a Muslim can not a sin or can not disobey allah, Read the theoris of Quran see the life of prophet Mohammed pbuh that how he implemented it on or with its companion because Allah and prophet Muhammad pbuh himself took the guarantee that they are the righteous one and god has declared they are the successful one's. If you want to see the followers read the life of prophet Muhammad PBUH close companions like Abubakr, Umar, Ali, Uthman, R.A etc. Then only you will see how they understand and took islam in every aspect of their life.

I am Muslim by birth, my parents sent me to madrassa to learn arabic so I can understand quran, and after I completed reading quran several times at elementary school, gave me bible, bhagavad gita, to learn about others. When my parents heard my comment laced with bad preconception about Christianity and Christians, few months afterward we went to a beach holiday with his catholic and Christian friends and a pastor and priest gave me their numbers to call Then when I asked about Ahmadia, Shia muslims, they sifted thru their contacts and got me meet them and ask them directly. One of the things he said that stuck with me was "Look around, don't be a victim of a single story. Who knows there maybe other opinions or explanations on the same matter" (so this talk really hit me) there is ALWAYS more colors, motives, nuances, background, interpretations in a story. Especially when we talk about religions or interpretation of sacred texts. May we always seek close relation with God internally and externally serve to bring benefits to others

See the difference between you and her is that she accepts diversity and you don't. I also believe in praying 5 times a day and wearing hijab but I also know that she wasn't claiming absolute truth to her opinion in this video. The Quran is not an exclusive book and if that is how she reads it ONLY ALLAH gets to tell her if its wrong or right. We just all have to do the best within our capabilities to get as close to the truth. Allah judges your efforts not your results, now imagine that her efforts outweigh yours, DESPITE the fact that we believe praying 5 times a day is right. If you just followed a command or culture blindly, meaning never having researched the roots of why we pray five times a day and the history of it, but she did the research and that was her result, her efforts are worth more than your results. Please keep that in mind, and live and let live because in the end Allah will judge all of us and we will have to account for our own deeds, no one is gonna take responsibility for you/anyone following them without putting efforts into learning why. May Allah bless and guide all of us to the straight path. Ameen.

Salaam, First of all I am Sunni, What I know is Shia muslims do mostly is doing 5 prayers in 3 sets (quran also mention 3 times a day of prayer) by combining dzuhr and ashr, and maghrib with Isya (i am using Indonesian transliteration of Arabic words) . We sunni do 5 times except in special circumstances such as traveling/fear/rains/sick. Cos that what the Prophet pbuh do most of times. But Prophet Muhammad Pbuh did in several occassions not come to masjid and instead at home combine (jama') prayers without any hajat/difficulties/special circumstances "to make it easy for my folllowers later" So please sunni do 5 times (and feel free to combine when travel/rains/sick/fear), the shia/ismaili do 3 sets (2 of them jama), let's just hope Allah the merciful accepts all of our prayers. Cos both were done by the Prophet To me more brothers and sisters in (insya Allah) heaven is more fun Salaam

Reading the comments really had me having to make this one: Amazing talk sister, I loved your representation and use of the cultural studies approaches to show how everyone of us interprets based on our hegemonic belief system. This wasn't a talk about preaching the right belief and everyone who commented "what she says is wrong bla bla" has not understood the baseline of this talk. You don't have to agree to her way of believing, it was never about that! It was about how - TRUELY - our culture and upbringing influences our ways of thinking and therefore our ways of understanding and interpreting. If you disagree about this and have a valid argumentation then sure, go ahead, but stop claiming ultimate and absolute truth because I assure you that no human, muslim or non-muslim can grasp that whole entity. Allah repeatedly says in the Quran that he knows and we don't know, so humble yourself and do your best in learning and finding a path that leads to the truth, but don't claim it, because even scholars have debates and the best of them would never claim that their understandings are "more right" that another ones. Stay humble, brothers and sisters, read about "furu‘ usūl al fiqh" and you'll learn about " ‘ilm al khilaf" and " ‘ilm al jadal" - the ethics of disagreement and the ethics of debate. Yes, it's a field of study so I urge you to learn about it, and see how much Islam meant to scholars, that they never dared with all their knowledge, to claim absolutism in debated manners. Jazakallah khair!

I get the point she's making, but her point becomes completely flawed when she says she prays 3 times a day. There are some fundamental things that cannot be changed. The five pillars of Islam are the fundamentals and if you change those then you aren't following Islam. When she says she only prays 3 times a day that's not Islam, as it changes the fundamentals of the religion. Something like believing that the Burqa is the only way of covering oneself up, fits what she's trying to say as another could argue only the headscarf is mandatory and covering the rest of the body with loose clothing is acceptable. Some part of what she said is healthy but it shouldn't be carried to the extent she's carried it.

Good presentation The guardian permission for marriage requires deeper analysis that it is a safer model for more stable marriage. We are taught that marriage is based on love through movies. Yet a sustainable marriage is about compatibility. Many mistake passion for love. If we look at statistics which marriage model is more successful. Yet the guardian ‘s limitation has to be discussed. The rule for praying is clear. It is five times.

It’s interesting to know that the term “Christian” didn’t originate from the Church. Rather, it was some folks in Antioch who described the followers of Jesus Christ as Christians back in the days. This fact is essential to understanding why Christianity is regarded as a religion, and why Jesus is called a religious leader. But “Christianity” isn’t a religion, and Jesus is no religious leader. As believers, we obviously share some semblances with some religious groups of the world. We believe in God and talk about Him; many religious groups also do the same. They gather to worship and pray the same way we do in church. These similarities have therefore caused a lot of people to misconstrue Christianity as another religion. However, you have to understand the content of the Gospel to know what you’re into as a believer. Christianity isn’t a religion at all; it’s the pulsating life of God in a human being. Christianity is Christ alive in you; it’s a relationship. And just as your relationship with your earthly parents isn’t a religion, your relationship with God isn’t a religion. In Christianity, you have the divine life of God, and you’re in an everlasting fellowship with Him. Colossians 1:27..To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away behold, all things are become new.

'context really is everything' and that context is Qur'an for Islam. And it speaks only one truth. The truth that is stripped off from time, culture, people and geography. Religions that are embedded in cultural contexts are those that have been corrupted by the people of their time because it didn't match with the way they wanted to live and maintain their culture. Islam is not one of those religions because of the fact that it has been holding on to the same book and one truth for 1400 years. It is unchanged and uncorrupted and is certainly not culture-based. Nor it can be interpreted according to culture and people's own ideas. You speak your own truth sister, but it is not the truth that Qur'an sent nor the truth that true believers believe in. May Allah guide you.

It is a positive discussion as it at least debunks the single story view of Islam and interpreting Islam in the backdrop of political views of any time. The views are also valuable when it is asked to understand Islam as entity separate from the followers which have "culturized" Islam. However, in my humble view, the function of Islam is not to be enriched by various cultures. The principles provided in Islam which Muslims are guided to adopt are independent of cultures or norms of a society. The process is not to adopt Islam to the cultures but apply principles of Islam to cultures. And in doing so, Islam respects the cultural norms as long as these norms do not contradict the principles of Islam. Which view of Islam, traditionalist or modernist, will be adopted is a separate discussion. But Islam as religion guides to use compassion, understanding, tolerance in the process of adopting cultures to Islam both at individual and social levels.
@illuminatiagent76912 жыл бұрын
No, the people are not guided to adopt, they're forced, by sword. Islam forces itself to cultures turning them upside down to rule the people of said cultures and tries to slowly Erase the native culture. Preach your horse poopy somewhere else.
