I am a Muslim living in England. My children go to Catholic schools andnever had problems regarding their faith. I was brought up in Pakistan and must admit non Muslims are treated worst by Muslims in Pakistan. And there are more jokes told about Islam in Pakistan than here but here Muslim are more sensitive. One more thing Hijab is not prescribed in Quran it is an Arab culture observed by Muslim and Arab Christians alike so it is personal choice.

I used to live in Germany and quite often I had to explain to German people questions regarding foreigners in Germany. The countries the West does not like e.g Syria , Lybia ( Gaddafi ) , Iraq ( Saddam ) are or were secular and socialist countries . So religious freedom exist . Other states are Gulf states which are great allies of the West . This states have more expatiate population than the local population . In these countries also religious freedom exit . Then , there are states like Egypt , Morocco , .Tunisia , Algeria -where also religious freedom exit . So only one country is left out ( Saudi Arabia - a great ally of the West ) .

The humility goes out the window the minute we feel sure there is an afterlife. The humility , therefore, becomes arrogance. And god doesn't like arrogant people because he fears people being more arrogant than he is. And before you say that I am arrogant because I am arrogant - WRONG! If I am seen as arrogant, my arrogance does not expect rewards in heaven. Whereas someone who KNOWS there is a heaven is arrogant AND EXPECTS TO BE REWARDED. And that is the difference. I believe that children should be spared the teachings of "A Specific(any)" Religion. Let them make their choices when they grow up as it distorts their perception of the world around them almost forever and they become judgmental. Different attires withing a given culture are basically designed to create a distinction (a relgious one) regardless. When I was joked at for being the only goth at school in the UK, or being french I just learnt to laugh with it.
