I often have pain, and you’re right man. The world is unforgiving but I realized we are in a better spot because we can now look for God who will answer if we call. He allowed the world to be evil so that we seek Him and not put our hopes in this life. It’ll be over soon, I’ll pray for you bro, I’m sorry if this was offensive or makes anyone upset I just know the hopeless feeling so well and Jesus Christ delivered me from hopelessness, he is willing to deliver who ever comes to him

It’s so strange, watching these videos, wondering what is the purpose of the lives of these creatures. They are born, live, die and are in turn used to sustain this tiny, little world inside the jar. Then it dawns on me that in a sense, on planet Earth we are kind of in the same position, of birth, life and death... I don’t mean to get to deep, but these videos always start the question spinning round in my head once again... just what is the meaning of life? For us, and everything else that lives in our universe? Anyway, thanks for the videos, they are fascinating, therapeutic and thought provoking all at once.

I had many different aquariums as a kid growing up but haven't had one in years, mostly due to my work schedule and space limitations. Your videos inspired me to go to a local antique shop with my wife and purchase a 3 gallon glass pickle jar with a lid. We then went out to the pond to the rear of our property and added some soil from the bottom of the pond and filled the rest with pond water, leaving some air space. It was murky brown for over a week but each day just a little more clear. It is now clear and I find myself gazing into it with child like wonder as the sun illuminates it. It is filled with life. Thanks for helping me feel that sense of wonder again.

I'm curious if hardiness zones play an impact on one's ability to have year-round neutral temps. For example, I live in the midwest where it gets very cold. Was wondering this after watching a number of Jartopia's videos, can the jars end up shattering from an increase of gases due to decomposition or natural reactions within the ecospheres? Does this happen or do the swing top jars prevent this?
@kevinconrad61564 жыл бұрын
No. Because it is a closed system the gasses circulate, the plants use CO2, both use O2 and they stay in balance. Glass is also pretty strong, even if something was just rotting and producing lots of methane the lid would probably fail first.

My first attempt at an enclosed ecosystem was somehow successful. I guess it was more luck than anything when it comes to balancing the amount of water inside it and the plant species I placed inside. Only one of them lived on but it's doing great. Currently 3 months completely sealed and it lives on just fine! I literally had to aluminium tape the lid of the jar (made one out of wood, doesn't look the best but hey, it works) as the darn plant was literally pushing the lid out. I plan to open it in around 1 year's time only to add a little more water. Now, can't wait to make an aquatic closed ecosystem, but I feel like that might be way harder to pull off successfully.

I really love these!! I would like to know if this could be done in the tropics. I wonder if Hydras have predators there and if there is a risk of overpopulation for some organisms or not?
