There's no double standard because they don't adhere to our philosophy where a unit is a unit, the world literally works as a web of oppression dynamics to them and anything the oppressed does is OK while nothing the oppressor does is because there's inherent evil in the latter and inherent good in the former. Notice the use of singular form, they don't view groups as collections of individuals either, I did it on purpose.

As an Iranian myself, I think what Robert Spencer said was almost true but had some inaccuracies. For example, he said that in Iran people go to mosques in the morning and wear hijab and then at night they close the doors and have tequilas. He said the reason they do this is because they think as long as they go along with the status quo and don't do anything us fine. I think that underestimates the suppression of the public by a Stalinistic regime that has its hand in almost everything everyone does every moment of their lives. Also, he forgot to mention that the Iranian people have stood against this regime many many times and every time they were violently suppressed and either killed or put to jail. Remember that Iran has the highest death penalty per capita in the world. Many of the executees are political prisoners, and not murderers and thieves.

Also, I must add that people going to mosques is widely inaccurate. There was a news almost a year ago that 75 percent of mosques are closing because no one is attending. There are not that many Muslims in Iran compared to even more secular Muslim majority countries such as Turkey and Albania. In Albania for example, almost 55 percent of the people are Muslims, but in Iran, based on foreign sources (not Islamic Republic sources), only 40 percent of Iranians are Muslims. I recommend people to read about the situation in Iran and the Iranian people.
