On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. Hey I just watched a video about the A-10 and apparently BFM is regular training and standard loadouts include 2 AIM heatseekers 'just in case'. could you do a video putting in the just in case scenario of a merge with a fighter? perhaps A'10 against Mig or SU and include IR missile options as well as guns?

It would be really cool to see a "capture the AWACs" team fight, with maybe 2v2 or 3v3 for the fighters with datalinks and the side to down the other's AWACs first wins. It would give the fight a bit more of a mission based feel.

GS spoiling us with another BVR Bang-ER! ;) I really liked seeing Longshot trying to stay a bit higher than usual, persumably to use his numerical missile advantage to keep the MAR at longer distances, wearing you down until you only have fox-2's remaining. Hearing from both of you during the Tacview debrief really is worth it IMO, as without it we can really only speculate on what the other guy's strategy was and how he experienced the engagement. PS. That Derby missile's physical model might be a bit OP: Launched from only Mach 1.1 at 30 kft, it reaches a blistering hypersonic speed of Mach 7.9 and a maximum altitude of 81.6 kft!

GS - That was SOOOO fun to watch! By the way, no offense, but having the adversary pilot (in this case, LS) go thru the TacView with you is 10x better than when you do it by yourself. Hearing you guys laugh and take the piss outta each other is so fun to take in. I think it adds a much more personal dimension to the excellent TacView epilogue in your vids.

Thank you for this! Probably the one most glaring omission in DCS is that since 1976, the F-15 has been the undisputed ruler of the skies, and still is in any arena without low observable opponents. If there were only one full fidelity flight model in DCS, it should be the Eagle. Glad to see others are at least prodding along the Flaming Cliffs version.

All missile data also don't take into account the fact Eagle is the fastest non-interceptor jet at high altitude right now making its missile range even longer. Newer Eagle variants with AESA radar and future AIM-260 should remain the king of BVR among 4th gen.

“Baz” in Hebrew means falcon. “A’it” means eagle, which would have been the correct translation, but the designation was addressed to the A4 Skyhawk the IAF was flying in 1956-2003. My dad was an IAF F-15D pilot. Watching your videos featuring his plane puts a smile on my face. Thank you!

Hey GS, the Tomcat got a new CFD based model update during the last patch. It would be cool to see how the new missiles compare, particularly the MK60 vs MK47 engine. It seems like the MK47 is only slightly better than AMRAAMs.

Yeah, and even though apparently the CFD based model is more closely matched with real life numbers it works really weird, the levels of drag are just insane. Losing almost 100kts every second doesn't seem realistic enough. The missile has trouble going past Mach 2 at something like 5000 ft or so.

Yes exactly, i think it's fairly common in US military aircraft nomenclature. even the japanese f15 export- the F-15J- has a 2-seater F-15JD

But most domestically built foreign aircraft (as far as I know) don't really follow this kind of system. The Russians and Chinese are examples that not everyone follows this system, as their systems are far more confusing (until you learn it anyway).
