*****IMPORTANT UPDATES******
1-) The airport in the video (Ataturk Airport) is closed now. Most planes to Istanbul land in the new "Istanbul Airport", which is not connected to the city (yet) by tram or metro. However there are shuttle buses - the schedules are here: www.hava.ist/tr
A taxi from the airport to Taksim or Sultanahmet costs about 440 TL.
Check fares here : havalimaniulasi...
2-) It is now free to enter Hagia Sophia as it no longer serves as a museum but a mosque. This also means that you have to follow the norms when you normally visit other places of worship like covering your hair (if you are a woman) etc.
3-) The government now controls all movement in the country and access to all facilities like restaurants, museums etc. by a code called HES. At the moment, this code is available for everyone, being dependent on a negative COVID PCR test result required upon entry to the country.

A video guide for Istanbul, about how to get where, costs, and how to spend your precious time in this beautiful city.

Last two years, now retired using Airbnb have been traveling around Europe a great deal and have watched many of these types of videos, also as an ex teacher and presenter, wish you to know certainly one of the best and I have seen a great deal. You are VERY good. Clear, informative, use of the maps, routes and times to show where you went and transport options, costs ( ie from airport) absolutely spot on. Currently considering Istanbul as a drop off point on my way to Japan and will now seriously consider now going to Istanbul.

Min. 6.10 where she is standing overlooks the Bosphorus Straits is called the Golden Horn and it is not difficult to realize why it is called that and why the empirors of times past chose to build their palaces there. The view is breathtaking and charming. Standing there for the first time I felt I was litrally charmed and out of present time with the majesty, beauty, awsomeness and the greatness of the past. I have been on top of Empire State Building in New York before, I have been inside the Statue of Liberty but was not awed as was by the view from the edge of the Golden Horn and Asia.

there are a lot more places to visit in Istanbul such as Çamlıca, Anadolu Hisarı, Maiden Tower which are all in Asian side. if you ever come back let me know I'll take you to cooler places! And also you are the first ever person to have the most accurate pronounciation I've ever seen! and it also shows how much you put into your work! good job.

I agree with the pass, it saves SO MUCH time and money. We hit every spot we needed to in less than a week. Topkapi, dolmabache, mosques, churches, it works like a history metro card.

I agree. I think it's polite to attempt to pronounce at least a few words in Turkish. I watch Turkish tv shows/drama ( I love them ) and I've picked up some basic Turkish words. I'm not from Turkey but it does look beautiful and this video was good. The video was well presented. I think Turkey and Turkish people are beautiful.

I've visited Istanbul twice. The sites are awesome and the food is incredible. Topkapi does take around 3 hours to explore and visit the Gulhane Park which is close by, Sultan Ahmet Mosque and Hagia Sofia are next to each other - also go to Basilica Cistern which is close to Hagia Sofia. Been on top of Galata Tower to observe amazing views. Under the Galata Bridge is the fish restaurants which was good. There is the Spice Bazaar and the New Mosque right where the Bosphorus Cruise boats are located. Behind the Spice Bazaar is the Rustem Pasha Mosque. Visited Sulemainye Mosque, Sultan Ayup Mosque and Pierre Lotti Cable Ride. Did the Bosphorus Cruise, stopped at Rumelli Fortress where the bridge is. Went onto the Bridge to Asian side of Istanbul and ate in a restaurant at the top of Camlica Hill which you can view the Bosphorus Bridge from the top of the hill - after that we went to Dolmabahce Palace which was a bit boring. Worth visiting the Prince's Island (Buyukada) and get a horse carriage ride around the island. Also worth visiting the Grand Bazaar - it's awesome. We did see other things in Istanbul including a huge aquarium and seen Taksim Square

why Pakistan dont have beautiful city? Pakistan have more old city, old fort, palace, wall. @@safuwanfauzi5014 Unfortunately, its literally heart -breaking when we compare Pakistan with Turkey ...Now a days there is so much trash ,smoke and plastic in roads that sometimes I feel that the trash is not in city but the city is in trash.......And yes we had more old city ,fort and palaces...There is Indus Valley Civilizations 5000 years old....Some of the cities are so old like Walled City in Lahore that they seemed to be living museum....We had 2nd largest mountain in the world(K-2)....meeting point of three high peaks.... But no tourists.....Even the local tourists are very less...And this is because of many reasons like corruption , fraud , lack of education ..the list is too long to discuss..... Well, respect for Turkish Brothers and sisters.... Its so nice to see you living in peace...

@@maryamjaved1571 Pakistani must change habit throw trash, plastic in streets, roads or even Poop in river, sometime not all thing government can do, Pakistan will be beautiful like Malaysia, Jordan, Morocco, Turkey, Syria(before war old city of Aleppo, Damascus) and will be tourist attraction. Europe. Australia & America are clean not prefect but good.
