Hi mate I’m keen on one of these but I just wanted to confirm that if it is earthed through the battery box, the box then becomes a negative conductor. Will there be any issues with having the positive terminals that close to the box at all? Is there a rule of how close it can get?

Hi Adam. Yer the box is negative but the positive terminals are not close to the top of the box. The battery is very secure in the box and is held down with metal hold down bracket. Onto of the metal hold down bracket is a midi fuse holder mounted to it so there is plenty of bight between the terminal and the box lid. There is no rule but it certainly can’t be close or touching.

Are you able to purchase just the loom? i already have a New ( In Box ) BcDc1225 , It would make it easier to fit with this loom

Hi mate. Unfortunately we can’t seperate the wiring from the redarc charger because it is hard wired in. That’s what makes the redarc so water and weather proof. However we have had customers post us their charger and we can build in a vehicle specific harness. This would be $450 cheaper than any advertised 1225d kit on our site, hope that makes sense.

How did you earth the second battery

Hi Brad, The earths are attached to the battery box itself and this being a kit designed to go in a particular spot and mounted to the chassis rail through the tub means that once mounted the aux battery is earthed to the body of the car and therefore also back to the main battery through the mounting bolts. Hey mate. It’s all grounded through the box so once the box is fully secure and mounted the whole system is earthed.
