This is a fantastic example of your natural ability to express yourself in,a delightful, and humorus way. I laughed my head off so many times, especially when you said "if your haughty you look down on everyone else, and think you are better than everyone else". I've known so many like this. I think you could do these teachings on a stage as a stand up comic. Bravo Teacher

1) The flight attendant was met with supercilious glances from the first-class passengers. 2) Her manager always treated her with a supercilious sense of indifference. 3) His mother-in-law rudely shunned his opinions with a supercilious air. 4) The supercilious expression on her face only served to confirm the low opinion that she had of him. 5) Any attempts that she made to provide her guest with refreshments were either met with outright refusal or supercilious ingratitude. 6) As she listened to him speak so belittlingly of those closest to her, she wondered how he could be so shamelessly supercilious. 7) He had only just been promoted, and yet he had already begun to take on a supercilious air, much to the annoyance of the other employees. 8) When she entered an expensive clothing shop, she was met with a supercilious glance from the lady behind the counter. 9) The lady regarded the young boy with supercilious contempt when he accidently stood in her way. 10) He was far too supercilious to care whether his remarks concerning the poorer class had offended anybody.

Once he told me with a pomposity that he had -been intervening- *interviewed* a president, but it was *did* not -impressed- *impress* me because those events were many years -ago from that time- *previously.*

I remember once when I fell in love with a spoiled and haughty girl in high school, i was always trying to get her attention but she wouldn't even look at me, and when she did, was with a disdainful look plastered on her face. So, i wasn't surprised when i met her supercilious father and an imperious mother to understand where all this snobbish, pompous demeanor she inherited from, that's when i decided to stop being such an idiot and give her up altogether. I bet there are loads of mistakes here and words not being used correctly but i tried to make it as succinct as possible. Anyway, tysm for the video

That sniffy attitude is not easy to understand as I am not used to have a haughty or a relentlessly Imperious friends . Furthermore , we went today to our areas shop-centre, the shop assistant was very supercilious towards us when we asked for some help. My partners comment was God we are facing an invasion of sniffy snobbish people.🌻🌻 I said please do not say that, you do not remember our cat that called Sniffy .

Just discovered your videos after suffering a crisis of confidence over the pronunciation of “slough” (in the context of a wound) and I have to say I love the content and the delivery. Outstanding stuff. One teeny, tiny thing: in the title of this video, I’m pretty sure “snobbish” is mis-spelt. Classic typo, could happen to anyone, but it feels worth pointing out given your expertise and authority. Sorry to be “that guy”… ;)

Elite class is somehow sniffy about the taste & liking of the layman. Kings were quite pompous in ancient times. White-collar sometimes acts like a supercilious towards blue-collar & imperious too. Haughty managers are sometimes imperious in mature. Snobbish leaders don't mingle with rank & file workers.
She is such a supercilious individual who is always acting sniffy towards those she regards not in her social class,such a haughty.

Jack is so pompous nowadays, one could say that he is a snob. No wonder, those recent pomp and ceremonies he's attended, taught him quite a language. Until he is no longer so haughty, I'd recommend others to stay away from him as well. Maybe that will show him that being hoity-toity, supercilious and thus imperious isn't that good of an idea.
By the way, even though I'm fluent, I tend to mix up prepositions/conjunctions a lot. Perhaps a video about prepositions/conjunctions and when it's appropriate to use each one. (where, to, for, from, by, towards, whereby, therefore, wherefore, whence, thus, thusly, albeit, though, although, but, and, or, moreover, notwithstanding, nonetheless, nevertheless, ....) Thank you in advance, sir. Appreciate it.

Sir could you please explain word abysmal and unfathomable...
@parnavisingh49156 жыл бұрын
Abysmal means -very bad whereas unfathomable means incomprehensible. Examples -The family suffered from abysmal conditions of poverty. Jack wrote an abysmal thesis which the teacher had to inevitably reject. Ex 2 -The complex concept remained unfathomable to me. Shakespeare's unfathomable literature is less likely to capture people's attention.

I've always assumed that the word haughty is etymologically related to high/height, based on its spelling.

Etymollogically high and haughty are not related but the similarity between them is due to the association of haughty to high in old french . The word haughty was without the initial h sound
