The emperor is so strong that the chaos gods are genuinely afraid of him even as he’s a living skeleton planted on a life support chair… Big E is so strong he erased Horus’s Soul from existence. A feat of psychic strength that no other being can do… JIMMY SPACE IS SO STRONG! He can literally time travel via astral projection which Horus also did… with the full force of all 4 chaos gods and he could only do it for a few minutes.

It helps explain why people thought he was a god. Sure, the golden armor and even the flaming sword don't help. But most people probably accepted the explanation that he was simply embodying the greatness humanity was capable of once and could be again. But once you realise he was casually giving off effects as if it strained reality itself to house him then it makes a lot more sense why so many people deified him even while he was actively demanding they stop.

Not specifically a materials scientist, but i have done materials science, so I'll give this a wuick word Muscle fibers don't have particularly great tensile strength. They aren't bad, but tensile isn't really there job, it's elastic contraction, so they can move stuff. Ligaments and tendons are more into the tensile strength sort of thing if you want to bother braiding all those little things together. The advantage of muscle fiber over a metal cable is that if you hook them all up with a network of stolen blood vessels and lungs and hearts and presumably feed them the rest of the continents worth of people, the muscles can A, contract to put a force upon whatever it is they are holding, and B, self repair, so you don't have to replace the cable after 50 or so years. And you could probably stick a demon into your muscle fiber cable and that would make it way stronger. And alsoake it try to strangle anyone who came near, which is exactly what you want out of a cable.

You're correct. Strictly speaking the tensile strength of steel is several orders of magnitude higher than muscle fiber. The only trouble I found looking it up is that the tests for Muscle fiber tensile strength are done mostly in-vivo (in a living subject), so it is not the strength of a single fiber but the strength of the fibers holding together which is a bit more like Velcro between each fiber than a weave. So if the individual muscle fibers were removed and woven together they would lose their ability to contract but might have a significantly higher tensile strength. However, there are natural fibers with significantly higher tensile strength than steel and much easier to process, such as spider silk, which is only 2 to 5 times weaker than carbon fiber.

Based on some notes I made a decade ago, the tensile strength of human tendons is about 50MPa, while steel is about ten times that, and carbon nanotubes are a thousand powers as tensile strong. Muscles are much worse, at 0.4 MPa.
