Bristol Channel is where I learned to sail as a boy in the 1960s. Cold and wet any time of year. And it has the second highest tidal range on the planet. Second only to Bay of Fundy in... Canada! Your avian visitor was probably a Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica). He or she was en-route to southern Africa. April 2008 I had one cadge a lift ten miles off Exmouth, Devon, England on the return leg of its annual migration. Love 'em.

So proud of you two making it this far as first time cruisers. You've come a long way since the days of Toronto just say'n. I knew going north this late in the season- you would have trouble with seas and weather windows. But then again there was the Faroe Islands. After the England visit- the Bay of Biscay awaits. That will be fun- sorta. You could have gone directly to the MED- with Italy, Greece, maybe Turkey as ports of calls- you control the helm in your adventure. Yes the Carbbiean is a favorable spot, more predictable, clear waters, warmer for cruising but it is just a tiny portion of this world when traveling by sea. Did I mention warmer? Hang tough Jibsea- you are from Canada, you know what toughness is- eh.

First let me start off by saying I really enjoy your channel. You do a great job of explaining the local areas along with what it takes to sell their and to enjoy this lifestyle. However and I can't stress this enough it really disappoints me when I Channel that I really love uses deceptive thumbnails to gain viewership. Now I understand that it's important to get views, subscriptions, likes and comments but at what price. As a viewer I do not like having my emotions played with in a tool to make money. I'm sure you were well aware of how you were phrasing the title and the thumbnail of this video and how people would perceive it.
