Wow! A great old Hollywood movie that I had not actually seen before, and with two A-list actors, I couldn't believe it! George Raft and Rosalind Russell were two of the best from Hollywood's golden era. Raft was one of the all time great male leads who could make the audience buy whatever role he was selling. And like her leading man in this movie, Rosalind Russell was a quintessential master of the art of acting. She could play any genre, from drama, to romance, to comedy. But boy did her star shine brightly as a comedic actress. Russell was truly one of the best comedy actors in the business. I couldn't believe I actually found such a great old Hollywood movie on youtube that I had never seen. Thank you very much!

Very good movie with George raft and Rosalind Russell -I’ve never seen that film but it’s definitely worth watching if- the guy really does stand with the little guys and fights the crooks! 😊😊😊

Nicely done, with George Raft having some fun with his gangster persona. By the billing as a Darryl Zanuck-Twentieth Century production, this probably was being made as the merger of the studios was taking place, though it has a 1936 TCF copyright.

What a great picture! Thanks for this forgotten gem. Roz Russell, Geo Raft, with top Director Roy Del Ruth. This is a class production, NOT a "B"movie. Fantastic rags-to-riches story of an immigrant's rise from ditch-digger to political boss. He becomes the champion of "the little guy" against big city corruption. Rich with striking, true-to-life characters, played by a brilliant supporting cast.

This was a really good movie and the quality wasn't as bad as alot I've seen, but these are very old and it's difficult to get or clean up them. Thank you again for the upload 👍🏻
