It's a fair point. But is there anything out there that can even come close to scratching the same itch? I really enjoyed my second time through Classic, TBC, and Wrath up until they put in the token when I quit on the spot. The bots didn't ruin my experience. I never participated in a GDKP run so that didn't alter it for me. I still had to deal with old school guild drama, getting screwed out of loot and having to G quit and find a new guild in SSC. Basically all of the old vibes were still there. IDK if there is another game out there that can deliver on what Classic, even with it not being the same as the first time around, has to offer. I don't plan on playing it again. I just wish that there was a better alternative. That, I would play.

It's Wotlk client 3.3.5, current exp is TBC since is progressive realm and it's classless with lot of cool features(classless, custom mystic enchants that change skills entirely, prestige leveling, hardcore leveling challenges, manastorms that are basicly mini dungeons that can be done solo or in a group, OPTIONAL high-risk pvp where players can drop everything, transmog, lots of other cool custom stuff actually developed by developers with UI like a custom hero architect where you can make builds and share with other players, a vanity item collection that stores almost all convenience items.) I've been playing for a few months now and it's a breath of fresh air.

This is why I am going with my friend on a hardcore server. The dungeons there are limited to 1 per day of the same dungeon. So you can do all of them in the same day but not spam the same one. Also game pace is a lot more realistic with no real rushing as that's otherwise prone to dying. You feel like actually plying a game, a rpg game instead of a treadmill speedrun to 60 and being burnout mid-way. Doing professions while leveling feels more rewarding to me on hc because on normal server I would prefer to rush to 60 first before doing professions. 60 mount eases doing professions but makes profession items below 60 lvl useless.

I’m very glad dual spec will be a part of these servers. However, I think it would be fair to find a way to keep the rpg element the same in making it a requirement to visit the class trainer to do this. Gets rid of having to gold sink every week if you don’t want to be stuck in heal spec, but keeps the class trainers from becoming irrelevant. I think the classic developers intended for them to be a core aspect and those philosophies should be respected. In SoD I haven’t gone to the class trainer since phase 4.

I dont really like that idea because I'd rather have the flexibility in every zone I'm in. Imagine being a hybrid with a OS as a healer and a group needs a healer in your current zone. Traveling to a trainer and back could take you almost longer then the dungeon itself. So I' rather propose that you can only change your spec in a resting zone. I think that has enough RP potential and also prohibits raid swapping.

Botters and hackers are insane there has not been a single pr server that has allowed even 30% of the bots and hackers. Like lit soo many people bot and hack it ruins everything. Here I am wanting a patch by patch experience for these older versions they don't even wanna ban fly hackers :D. I remember in 2019 noticing the huge problem. Then went to try retail same thing. Came back for cata pvp with a friend got to 2300-2400 and fucking 3 out of 5 games will have a scripter with 600 plus rpm....

To me, vanilla is about the tight knit communities, making a name for yourself & remembering the name of that pesky ganker in Redridge. I am quite sure Blizzard has made the choice to have mega servers with layering just so they can scale back on the amount of layers when people start leaving. That way they can still make it look like the world is as vibrant and alive as ever. Besides, I'm a #nochanges guy and I really dislike the idea of "QoL" in vanilla, but that's a topic for a different day I guess...

To me, having played the game since the 2004 release, I don't understand why they don't just remake Classic but with the exact type of fixes like dual spec. They have the opportunity to take everything QoL related that *doesn't* compromise the core game (like dungeon finder/phasing/faction change etc) and add it to Classic. They even have the chance to create a different timeline where TBC doesn't arrive, so that we can continue in Classic after Naxx.

I love playing Retail (insert future expansion name here) Battle for Azeroth Classic Cataclysm Classic Classic And Classic Classic Classic at the same time! Gosh, Blizzard is out of ideas at this point. Some day, all players will be split into 4 Different expansions and versions of WoW, and the environments will be empty, and que times will take forever, for a simple BG or dungeon. Great. They really need the money from every small group of players who like to play a specific expansion. Just open up one realm for every expansion from the past 20 years, would be a lot easier... and people can take their character to every expansion they want, anytime they want. I honestly don't really see the appeal of yet another classic launch, especially with this roadmap. I quit halfway through the 2019 classic release due to the bots becoming a huge issue and due to the community adopting playstyles that I very much disliked (Scarlet Monastery AoE boosting, world buff stacking, etc). It became harder and harder to find people with a more laid back mindset who just wanted to see the content and explore azeroth again, everyone had to optimize everything all the time. Those kinds of issues aren't going anywhere. I'll be keeping to private servers, thank you very much.

I'm looking forward to this as my last hurrah in WoW, my sub ends Dec 1, so I'm gonna try and hit 60 before it ends. Been playing since I was 9 in 2006, account was my dad's before he passed away, he'd been playing since early 2004 in the beta. Retail isn't my vibe anymore, and while I like Classic I really don't like Blizzard & they seem to hate me so I finally stopped giving them money. Except TBC & the newest one I have collectors editions of every expansion (even vanilla like you talked about earlier today). Maybe I'm just too political but the straw that broke the camel's back was the bearded lady dwarves, but for the last few years I've realized that Blizzard really doesn't like guys like me. Despite no longer playing the game I will continue to look forward to the historical & other wow videos you do, keep it up man.

Insane that people are hyped for a NON-patch by patch experience by the company that made the game and settle for a 1.12. 2.4.3 last patch treatment like its some small dev team of 3 people and not a billion dollar company. Oh and lets no forget the bots and hackers..... People who play classic and pay a sub for this game are the reason it will never regain its former glory cause you accept bad games.

​@XlelouchVi I think this time around, it will die pretty quickly. People will realize the time commitment you need for classic. In 2019, it peaked when the lock downs happened so people had alot of time to get into classic, this time unless you have a part time job it won't be all that appealing. No gdkp's will mean alot of people will not get the desired gear throughout each patch and will most probably quit.
