Work from home jobs 2024 have been on a decline. In the first few years after the covid 19 pandemic, the corporate opinion regarding work from home jobs was rather positive. Many corporates and IT services companies were on board with the idea that work for home is here to stay. However, over time, we have seen the shift if this opinion since many companies like TCS Infosy Wipro HCL among others started calling their employee to work from office. WFH was slowly replaced with Work From Office and even though many employees did not like this change, and there was criticism to some degree about it as well, work from home is ending in 2024.
Work from home future in India looks uncertain because it is difficult for corporates to analyze employee productivity when employees are working from home. A lot of people have also pointed out that calling employees back to office on immediate basis was one of the paths towards silent IT layoffs and indirect tech layoffs 2024. IT layoffs 2024 in various companies such as TCS layoffs, Infosys layoffs, and WIpro layoffs tell us that companies are getting stricter about their work from home policies and even TCS has put out a final warning call for their employees to start working from the office.
The connection between IT layoffs 2024 and Tech layoffs 2024 with end of Work from home jobs in India may be based some speculation. However, we cannot ignore the fact that corporates face certain problems when employees are working from home rather than working from office. Future work from home jobs in India are going to fewer than work from home jobs that existed before in 2023 or 2022. Work from home jobs 2024 will be lower because corporates face the issues related to control and productivity when employees are working from home.
On the flip side, we need to understand the wfh end impact on corporate employees. Many corporate employees have their own priorities like taking care of their health or spending more time with family members which is why they prefer work from home rather than work from office. Will work from home end or not is a question that will determine the overall career and personal life trajectories of many corporate employees in India. TCS layoffs, WIpro layoffs, and Infosys layoffs, have shown us that IT layoffs and Tech layoffs may continue in the future but the employee who do not adpt to the changing landscape where corporates favor work from office over WFH, will be more likely to suffer from IT layoffs 2024 or Tech layoffs 2024.

I advocate for wfh as anyway teams are already distributed across geography and even if we go to office , need to connect on teams/call only. It takes around 2 hours to commute to and fro, and even after attending office, i am unable to find meaningful network i dont find it productive.

It's not always feasible to adhere strictly to one approach; a hybrid model that combines elements of both work-from-office and remote work can provide the flexibility needed, especially considering the challenges of daily office commutes post-pandemic.

If I'm not wrong, as a fresher who starts their career Work From Office would give them a great understanding of how corporate works and also helps them to connect & learn with their senior colleagues

Hey it's not true. It just depends on your manager or seniors how they see you or how appreciative and not insecure they feel of you. Otherwise wfh or wfo has not much impact on learning processes.

As if your seniors will teach you for free when even your college professors didn't. They are gonna exploit you more by promising you better future. Don't be a kid, you need to learn everything on your own without anyone's help. Colleagues are not your friends but are competitors. Some will provoke you to change job only to grab your promotion 😂😂😂

I agree with this completely. Working in office as a fresher makes a massive difference in your learning and ability to learn in the company. After 1 or 2 years, the dependence may not be that big of a problem but building connections is very tough online for everyone

WFH is purely for IT industry. If IT workers are distributed in multiple tier2 cities, then good scope for the grouth of those cities and reduction in pressure on Non IT workers also, like less rental cost for them in the major cities. City resources also less strained.

It’s good for me. Actually after 6:00PM I don’t have to worry about what happens. I will have a time for my family and myself. I spent more time at work when work from home.

Wfh is best ... sleep and do ur work ..... no need to talk and make relations with shitty employees.... no flaterry .... no office polictics..... no long distance travelling ..... dealing with idiot people online is better than offline

Need more deeper thoughts. What this guy said, what that guy said is mainly for grabbing attention. There is certain job profiles where WFH makes perfect sense. Sales is one of them. And sales is working from home from long time. Similarly, as someone said, if someone is new to industry they need to spend more time with the peers and seniors. Also, your performance will be evident in 2-3 months where someone is watching you or not. It’s not if it someone is watching you or not. Think hard buddy!

I am a strong advocate for work from the office working from the office creates a boundary between work and personal life once your work is done you go home and that's it but working from home you lose sight of personal life

What I have personally observed at an individual level is that WFH can benefit himself or herself by not getting stuck in traffic and saving the energy to focus on important tasks. But what we don't realise is we lose the social fabric of bonding with people. WFH becomes more objective. But when you are in the office,you talk about diverse topics, collaborate and improve your network which can also spark innovative ideas. That is the reason why most companies are choosing hybrid models to strike the balance and get both the benefits.

Sometimes I think where we want to go as humans. Employers want PROFIT. Good Employers should make profit to run the company but the problem is when Employers want more PROFIT than the last year. It requires more productivity that means more stress to employees, worst work life balance, too much pressure on employees.

Work from office actually help in Working to 8 hours only, work from home feels like 14 hours working, since our colleagues are working from home no proper work time, it also puts pressure for us to work

Depends on how far one lives from office and the Nature of work. For example, in Bangalore in my office, I am the only person from my team, others team members are in different cities and we have work that needs out of office hours etc, so for me WFH is best suited. For some WFO works out if they stay nearer to office have most of the team members in same location etc, so different people different jobs have different perspective about it. Am working from home since 2010, and my performance is still good..

Wfh has too many merits to ignore. Improved Quality of life is biggest one . No commute in indias polluted metros - jammed roads , the noise of honks and revving engines , vehicular exhaust . But companies simply overlook this huge benefit as they really don't trust employees.

Working from home best of IT when they talk so much about AI and Robotics , they should not even advocate such tools when they talk AI augmentation left right and center .If they have genuine attitude then they should say 1 day a week and reduce gradually not 3 days a week. I would like to add one more point with your control aspect 90% of the managers are not well equipped with latest technology or many of them never worked in technology so they find extremely difficult on camera rather in person they feel comfort asking same doubt again and again and do better guess work .2nd type of employee prefer to work from office and they instigate this who are confined in small space ,like 2 bed apartments with 2 kids which is bit unmanageable situation WFH so they drag their subordinates to office .Question to the corporations should be if office is so productive they should never outsource the work in global location infact its it be local office local culture.

Most of the companies fired 50℅ of employees and increased the work to 200℅ on remaining 50℅ employees no salary hike and these employees are working only they are getting option to work from home. Corporates are saving a lot on office expenses. Many companies want their employees to work from home, this is all drama by companies like TCS, once employees start working from office then they will realize how much they save on office expenses.

I appreciate your efforts in making this video, but I do not agree with your analysis or opinion because it is not correct. It is already too late for managers and companies to worry that employees will think long-term and switch, as employees have already been working from home since 2020. The challenge is actually the other way around for employees, and companies are using it to threaten them. The current fear among employees is to have multiple passive incomes and combat the disruption from AI, not long-term planning. Many are willing to work because of a tough job market.
