@@itsbackpacker1075 He specializes in photorealism by drawing. If he did animation in this detail, he would have to do it on a computer, and I'm pretty sure that is not where his passion lies. He looks very happy and free with what he is doing right now. Computer generated realism is very different from hand drawn realism. If he did 3D animation, there would be very little drawing, and more sculpting. If he did 2D or traditional animation, he would have to be extremely fast at drawing. Animation takes a very long time alone, and as you can see here, hyperrealism does as well. If he did animation, a big company would likely make him simplify his work for time efficiency. It is possible to make a very detailed animation with hyperrealism, but it would be an immense amount of work and take a very long time. Working for a big company would mean less freedom for what he actually likes to do. What he could have is more recognition, not someone else telling him what do to. He's good enough to be his own boss anyway.

This is why I chose the painting analysis over the practical exercise for my final exam in art class. Analysing a painting and it's composition, colors, historical background and comparing the results with another analysed painting within a few hours? Sounds possible to me. Drawing a completely new version of something with own ideas and explaining why you did so to convince the teacher from your opinion within a few hours? Seems impossible to me. Good art should not be forced or rushed. Every piece needs and independent and own amount of concentration, time and care.
