This is what happens when a car company has fun and pushes the limit. Hyundai came out with this car and the N Vision 74 at the same time. The Ioniq 5 was the EV hot hatch, the N Vision 74 was a hydrogen fuel cell car. Both were designed for enthusiasts and that is why Sarah likes it so much. It’s not for everyone, it’s for people that watch car reviews on KZbin for fun.

Also has 80+more miles of range and similar charging per mile or range per minute. Of course it's American made to! 👍🏻 I bet that same drivetrain ends up in the tesla model Y juniper performance update next year. Should cost a similar amount to the m3p. Lighter than this i5n so it'll be as quick with slightly less power&more range for CHEAPER. 😎👍🏻 Of course in 2 or 3 years these will be 35-40k with low miles as semi solid state cells are then mainstream along with solid state cells. And much more powerful lighter axial flow hybrid style ev in wheel motors come into their own. So evs will drop 300-600#+ easily. Trucks and ev suvs/cuvs could drop 600-1,000# or more due to solidstate cells and lighter more powerful motors. Example the nio et7 150kwh pack is 44# heavier than the catl 100kwh pack which uses the same size case. And that is made by welion using semi solid state cells on sale already! Gac aion division just released a 30,000 rpm 4 in 1 design motor entering mass production in 2025. Car & Driver just gave this their EV of the Year, so other driving enthusiasts do indeed appreciate what Hyundai has done here. I like the fact that so many other EVs are trying to be everything for the masses, and Hyundai just did this for the minority of drivers who actually enjoy driving; there are of course other versions of the Ioniq and the similar Kia EV6 for less enthusiastic people. As for comparing it to a Tesla, even Car & Driver and MotorTrend have trouble getting those; they often have to rent or borrow one. Great review, with far more information and entertainment value than the magazine had. Plus Sarah's reaction to the acceleration and "shifts"!

@BigBear--2 ай бұрын
It's family sized, and a fun toy. Not so sure about everyday practically though. It's still just an EV after all. You have to live in a very specific location and have a very specific lifestyle to be able to live with an EV as a primary vehicle (even then have your life revolve around planning for the car)...and not be completely miserable or screwed. So fun toy, but expensive, and mainly impractical for most people just like any other EV.

Hyundai really knocked it out of the park with this car. They knew what they needed to do to bridge the gap between internal combustion enthusiasts and EVs. It is a shame the small overly-vocal group of people who can't separate the politics from the products won't realize how cool this thing is and acknowledge it as the "step in the right direction" that it is for enthusiasts. Given this is the first product to really do what this car can do - I hope other manufacturers do the same. Every review I have seen of this car has been glowing - and there is tons of footage of them being driven on tracks. If I was in the market for an EV - this would be #1 on my list. What would be really, really cool is if they implement a feature where you can download / add different "tuning" maps to change the sound and behaviors. It would be thoroughly quite awesome to hop in the car - and be like "today I want to drive a supercharged V8" or "How about a high-revving Italian v6" and have the simulated powerband/shifts replicate those powertrains.

I love the Ionic 5N. Personally, I prefer the supersonic sound, given that instead of pops and burbles, it has little sonic booms. Also, the sound doesn't really come across on video quite as nice as it sounds IRL. There are so many cool things about the 5N. 0.6g of regenerative braking. In comparison, the Porsche Taycan GT only has 0.42g. It's a super usable car. Range isn't bad for what it is, especially when driven readonably. It still has the 18min from 10 to 80% on a 350W fastcharger, like the normal 5/EV6/GV60. The fake gears even have a hard limiter, so when you hit it, you don't keep accelerating, like it would be in a real transmission. It's currently in my top 3 of cars that I want. The other 2 are the Ariel Nomad 2 and the eNomad.
