It's nice to hear RE2R recognized, because it IS actually one of the best games ever made - they've smashed it. On the other hand, the failure of titles such as Lost Planet 2 or Resident Evil 6 can be owed to media reviews - even though these were games of super high quality and quite deep, well-functioning arcade-based systems, which many didn't even understood. Good thing Capcom never really stopped making good stuff.

Don't know about Lost planet 2 but as for RE6 Main failure was because they removed puzzle, inventory management, jump scares and more importantly survival horror theme which was main motto of them from beginning RE1 and 6 seems literally more heavily inspired by COD, Uncharted, Gears of War game franchise which is not bad thing at all but problem is game doesn't feel Resident Evil element in it.

@@Mythpathz RE6 has many elements taken from literally every previous entry, and some new solutions have also been added. It's different, yes, but let's be honest - RE4&5 didn't have much horror either and were a direct prelude to the action packed RE6. What I mean is that despite its different tone than the classic entries, RE6 is a really well-made game, packed to the brim with content. This was Capcom's top form in every respect. Still, GameSpot gave it a... 4.5 in review. What's the logic in that?

Lost Planet 2 was a similar situation, where the game had its own unique style, some of the most epic sets ever, it was packed with content like crazy - the thing is that it required an individual approach to understanding all the mechanics. However, in the reviews it was largely torn apart by people who didn't even bother to learn how to play it. Thanks to brand recognition, RE6 still sold quite well, but LP2 was pretty much buried by these reviews and caused the situation with LP3.

“No one seems to be talking about it.” Huh. Plenty of people every year talk about how Capcom is one of the best Developers/Publishers. You guys seem to be late to the party. Since RE7 in 2017, they have rarely missed. You can count on one hand the amount of titles that missed the mark. The development of the RE engine really propelled them to a different level. Now we just have to remind them that they own the Dino Crisis and Megaman IP’s.

Kunitsu-gami is definitely one of my favourite game I've played this year, and its rapidly becoming my GOTY this year as I'm progressing through it. The artstyle is so unique and captivating, the motion capture so beautifully done, and with such fantastic music it makes me bob my head with the rhythm during battles. Gameplay is easy to understand yet gets really deep the further you progress, I'm having so much fun with it. Thank you Capcom for allowing me to feel excitement like a child again.🙏

Yes, during the PS3/Xbox 360 they were in a rough spot. Most of their big talent had left the company and management made all the wrong decisions. But I agree, they are slowly getting back into form and understanding what fans want from them. They are not yet on PS2/GC levels of awesomeness but there is the potential to get there one day.

One thing people dont talk about is how amazing RE 8 and RE 4 Remake in VR is. Theyre some of the best VR experiences out there, and Resident Evil is a perfect fit for the platform. Capcom has reaffirmed their commitment to continue putting RE in VR. Which is really exciting for the VR space and its future. I am ready for more new RE games as opposed to remakes, id still love to get 0, 1, and CV but would prefer new stuff more often. If anything gets a remake Dino Crisis, DMC, or Onimusha should be given some love.

Unless you're a pc player** DD2's performance was terrible at launch (I believe the stutter in cities hasn't been fixed yet). Tried playing kunitsu gami and it crashes every 30 min. Apparently a lot of people are also experiencing these crashes. RE4 remake was probably the only game that was well optimized for pc.

Capcom has done nothing to impress me in a while. Thats not to say I dislike them, but the title of this video feels strange given the atrange direction they have taken to spend far more time on remakes of old games than making decent new games. I'm sure they actually haven't, but it feels like they're pumping out more remakes than they are new games because they can no longer come up with good stories on their own. RE is the best example. They ran that story into the ground and cant figure out what to do with it anymore, this Remake Evil. Capcom has the "make things people will buy" down pat, but it feels like forever since I touched a game of theirs that wasn't a remake, remaster, or collection. I think SF6 was the last

No it’s not. So tired of the industry shilling for them. Where the heck is Megaman, Power Stone, Onimusha, Darkstalkers, Viewful Joe and other long dormant IP? Not to mention a new DMC! This company honestly plays it way too safe-mostly relying on RE, MH, and SF to stay afloat. They’re not nearly as bad as Nintendo as they do take chances every once in a while with stuff like Exoprimial or Kamitsugami, but those are titles with every limited appeal. It’s ridiculous how much they rely so heavily on milking RE dang near every year. They really should be giving those teams a break and doing a new Dino Crisis in-between releases. Also the fact they’ve gone this long without a MegaMan game is baffling. Just like Nintendo I feel like they just need to give up some of these IPs if they never gonna use them again. Or at least license them out. I’m sure many devs would love to get their hands on some of their older franchises.

Since Capcom announced MvC Collection I have anticipated a new Marvel vs Capcom. Hopefully Marvel has learned their lesson from MvCI. Let Capcom do their thing and make a fun VS game. STOP trying to use MvC to sell tickets for MCU movies. If the game is fun to play and looks like it was made with care. People will buy it.
