Velma still sucks. There's no character or plot development and just when it seems something interesting is going to happen they drop it for more forced drama and Velma judging everybody.

maybe it's just me, but scrappy doo wasn't annoying in Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School as much as the series. I don't know why though. Maybe they tonned him down? But he was the least annoying to me out of all the movies, so I wouldn't mind him returning if they developed him more. Then again the kid they introduced later annoyed me more as a kid than scrappy so maybe im biased?

Privileged women of color pitches show about her, but hides behind popular IP. It's on HBO and dumbasses who got bullied into this nonsense. Mindy, apsolutley is privileged women from day she was born (father achytecht, mother gynecologist). She went to private school, private college... Everything she knows about inequalities she learned from equally privileged people raised with golden spoon , on social medias such is twitter. And this show is great example of person out of touch with real world, trying to make social points. It feels off because she never lived through any of it. It's as offputting as man trying to talk about female struggles. This is in general massive issue with Hollywood today. Majority of Hollywood top tear people are golden generation- golden-spoon fed narcissistic egomaniacs. And ofc they can't make good stories ( or create nothing new ) since non of them every experienced any obysticle in their lifes. Now compare new directors with some Kubrick or Hitchcock

I find all three of those people being in love with Velma very hard to believe, because Velma attacked Daphne with a crowbar, he made fun of “Norville,” and she humiliated Fred despite being attracted to him. You know, other shows had to ban attractive female characters such as Hello Nurse and Miss Bellum for being too sexy, and others such as She-Ra had to be completely re-designed to be less sexual. But then we get a show, such as Velma, that completely sexualizes teenagers. The industry is so hypocritical when it comes to certain things.

"Why'd they bother making a mystery show if they don't care about the mystery?" Because that's the joke. The show is really about relationships, politics, and meta-humor, and that the mystery is an afterthought is supposed to be funny. The mystery will presumably be solved at some point, and it will matter less than the Rosebud mystery in Citizen Kane.

Nobody messes with Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, Warner probably wouldn't like to see one of their oldest brands being trampled on in this way. Velma "had" a chance to be a better person but she decided to humiliate Fred in court that made him had a tantrum and he lied about killing those girls. 3:59 why Velma eating a sandwich during the investigation? Isn't Norville the one with the Eating Disorder? Even that blonde girl had a blade and wrap it around her fist. And Velma Said only just men are violent? And That blonde girl fights Velma in the tournament and didn't have the blade. Inconsistency! Oh yeah that blonde girl is also the one making fun Norville's Dad and mental health including as she said "there's no me in kill me"(This idiot). Then she turns 180 an saying mental health is not a joke. Why the change? Inconsistency? Or she's defending Daphne because making fun of mental illness is happening to her. You know, Blonde girl is 2nd suspect of the murders. I don't understand why there's a tournaments if Daphne's moms teaching the girls "go limp" aka Playing Possum, that doesn't defend anyone. But this works only for Velma to win her fights. Velma also said she keeping the picture that Fred texted her. Such Hypocrisy. 9:29 it is weird. It is important to have good hygiene in general. How Good Hygiene is patriarchal? Parents(including mothers) teach hygiene, teacher teach hygiene and even workplaces teach the important of Good hygiene. This is after pandemic were it important to washed your hands! When Norville confessed and said he's good at playing dumb but Daphne sarcastically say nooo. Daphne knew Norville is a simp even brought up Velma in the car scene. The show put Daphne Loves Dangers to put her in Velma's childhood flashback so Daphne and Velma can have this Forced Chemistry. Wow! Those two are so different and not like other kids they made for each other. Also the flashbacks add scene where Daphne Stole a teacher's wallet and she pull a knife on to The Blonde girl who pushed Velma and Daphne said Apologize. Sigh.... I know they're childhoods friend but Daphne and Velma didn't even interacted with each other in these flashbacks. And Daphne, Blonde girl and the Knife could be more evidences why Blonde Girl is the suspect for the murders as Blonde girl might be the one to frame Velma to go to jail and keep Daphne to away from her. I got a feeling in next two episodes Fred is going the one who simps now. I just want this pain to end.

There's a saying... Terrible people doing terrible things can be hilarious. Seinfeld for example showcases a cast of honestly terrible people, ranging between jerks, to narcissists, to at the very least someone with ZERO care about social norms to the point of being obnoxious... And yet it's considered a classic comedy show. Then you have shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia which the ENTIRE POINT OF is to show crappy people being crappy and how their lack of well... EVERYTHING that makes up being a decent person puts them into hilarious situations... The thing that makes them funny is there's the idea that yes, it's a terrible thing they're doing... BUUUUUUT their mindsets and how they think it's either a good call or even just HOW they go about it, can be outright GUT BUSTING... Here's where Velma falls apart... NONE OF THE SITUATIONS ARE FUNNY! And more to the point, there has to be SOMETHING at least SOMEWHAT likable about said terrible person for the comedy to work. They could be snarky, they could say things you WISH you could say, they could even just have an OVERALL affable personality but actually be quite terrible in general... The point being Velma doesn't get that you can't JUST have terrible people and call it a comedy... You have to have what they do IMPACT the show and it build to a crescendo of it all toppling down on them. THAT is where the comedy comes in!

I always hate it when the argument of, "Why aren't men taught not to kill women," is brought up. It's like whoever makes that claim automatically assumes that the male sex are, at default, murderers and have to be taught against their nature. When in reality, the reason why it's not done is because people, men and women, are taught by their parents, peers, and society, to be good and respectable to their fellows. The ones who kill are exceptions and never got the lesson in the first place. Even if a hypothetical class about not killing was held, would it change the mind of a serial killer? Or would it just be a waste of time and frustrate all the people who aren't ever going to kill someone outside of maybe self-defence because it feels like they're being punished for an extreme reaction? It's better for everyone if the people being targetted by killers know how to react when they meet those few outliers rather than punishing half the population of Earth for something they won't ever do. You're very brave for handling this.

I simply don't think the writers know how to write likeable characters or character development. Like if we take Fred, he starts as a racist who refuses to talk to unattractive women. But after having a conversation with Velma about both their insecurities, he goes on to remember her name and later defends her against the school bullies. Logically, the show would treat that as a furtherment of his character, but the next scenes are making fun of the fact that he's a manbaby, body shaming him, and turning him into Hitler. Sooo, was what he did not a good development, cuz the show seems to treat it like it's not. The show then does this with Fred several more times with him, like when he learns to appreciate "inner beauty" but then Velma just rejects him for being a bad person. There's no logical through line to anything that happens.
