My old total would have been close to $150 with all my drugstore picks, but so many have been pushed out of bed with the discovery of Thrive, Kosas and Salt New York so we're closer to $400. Once you realize that your undertone is too neutral to look good in drugstore foundation, and that brown tubing mascara exists, it's impossible to go back.

My calculation came out to about $442. I'm newer to regularly using makeup and there's so many categories I haven't found the thing I would repurchase over and over again. Doing this made me realize that trying the Bobbi brown vitamin enriched face base after my current primer is gone probably won't break the bank. I love thinking about what my most streamlined collection will be like once I've found that special something in each category.

If you like the formula of the em cosmetics so soft bronzer, I'd recommend the shade Terra. I'm pretty pale, and it looks dark, but works well for my preference of a cooler toned bronzer. Lol but if you don't like the formula, please just ignore me 😆

That Makeup by Mario bronzer.... I tried to replicate that glow with more product for my money after hitting pan with the new fair shade of the Saie bronzer... it's not the same. "Undetectable" is so it, and achieved it's like effortlessly. Makeup products kept promising that dream and this was the first experience of it. It's the tinted moisturiser of bronzers.

I just getting into makeup again at age 40 - stopped wearing makeup at age 17 (I’m starting to do videos with a really nice camera… Without much detail on the screen I feel like I need make up!). I had a few bits of make up I wore for the occasional wedding. For my own wedding I went somewhere and they did my make up and hair at the same time. My make up purchases so far has probably been $600?? I started with nothing. It kind of sucks because I can’t find the foundation I like. So I’ve bought: Clinique, Fenty, Makeup Revolution, MAC, It Cosmetics, and one more forgot which. I will probably buy more. They are all *fine* but basically I’m super frustrated because I’m doing 23 years worth of learning about makeup at once, on my aging And heavily freckled skin for added difficulty, for a super detailed camera. In real life I’d be fine with tinted suncreen and a lip gloss 😆 It is fun though - have to admit. However, I feel like I am ruining my skin barrier after over 2 decades of not wearing makeup. I usually don’t wash my face unless I wore suncreen, which living in rainy portland I don’t do every day. I definitely Have way more eye irritation And in particular bloodshot eyes, and waaaaay more pimples since starting to wear makeup again. It takes me about seven days for my eyes to recover from one day of eyeliner. Not complaining, just an interesting observation.

You need to try the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour skin protectant. It was created in 1930 and is still the same formula. I use it and it works great. Yes, it’s like vaseline but if you use it at nighttime around your eyes, you would be amazed how hydrated your skin will be in the morning. I use it on my entire face. Makes my skin really soft and hydrated.

I added mine together and came $297. Which doesn't mean I don't like relatively high/middle end products (I don't have any products that are drug store), I just discovered I look better in very light natural make-up. But also the whole bronzer/blush/contour becomes 1 product for me (glossier dusk, I've gone through 2, on my 3rd). The color is just perfect and everyone think it is really due to just the sun. Kosas powder and concealer for the win. Sad they are discounting their old lipsticks. I tested that Chanel foundation and something I noticed was shade range is horrible. I had hoped that as it was so expensive that shade range would be complex than basic drug store foundations. I understand that that is probably their customer base, but I guess I expected a call out from you since you do with many other foundations. (Maybe you did in the initial video? However, I saw on their website they have added some dark shades recently, so maybe more are coming?)

I rinse it off and continue with my regular routine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At first I was like nooo it’s so expensive I can’t but I do not like how it sits on my skin and yeah, does not cooperate with my makeup. This way I end up using the device more frequently ( since I’m not avoiding the slimy aftermath) which gives better results anyway so I don’t feel bad about it lol
