I am still disappointed that we got shut down as I feel that the videos present a positive and otherwise unshown side of logging, running Buncher and forestry. Man that’s a bummer I sure enjoy watching your stuff. My wife asks me when I’m watching your channel “don’t you get tired of that? You do that all day yourself and you want to watch it at home?” Ha I find it interesting to watch other peoples style. There always learning even if you’ve been in the seat for lots of years. I was excited to watch the tether…. The company we are working for now wants us to do that also. I just don’t know enough about it to know if I’d be interested in that kind of thing or not. Hope you can find a way to get content out on that. Good luck to you and your channel. You show people that loggers are professionals and care about what we do.

Hey, thank you Mike. Its comments like yours that make our day. I'm the same way, I also learn a lot from watching other operators and other ways different loggers get it done. Right now I am cautiously optimistic that we will be able to get the channel going again, my boss went to bat for me and it seems like maybe things will work out, given the content and tone of what my wife and I have been putting together. We'll see. Tethering is new to me as well, as I lay out units now I have to admit I'm looking at the ground I will be cutting in the future with an equal degree of excitement and trepidation! I've been interested in it from the first time I caught a video, I think it was that Climbmax over in New Zealand, and I was yelling whoa whoa whoa as the operator kept going down the hill, not knowing he was on a line. Logger porn right? I am looking forward to showing my machine getting put together, the learning curve, and what's involved in getting the system figured out and getting comfortable with working on the line. Even though it's not cutting edge anymore, it's still new and I think it's a place where showing the whole process may get some hotshot young guys, or gals for that matter, interested in the industry. And boy oh boy, we sure need that! Josh Wantowski @wantowski987 does a great job of showing a good operator cutting with a bar saw if you haven't caught his stuff yet. I am impressed with Summit. As you get closer I would encourage you to give Eric Krume a call - he is very knowledgeable and generous in his time answering questions and giving info. Helluva outfit. We appreciate the comment, even though many people don't recognize it, operators like you and I ARE professionals and after over 40 years I'm still proud to be a logger, still love what I get to do every day and what the industry does. It's great to hear that that message is coming through in the content! Good cuttin to ya brother, be safe!

I have enjoyed our conversations as well. We hope to keep some videos coming but as I am consistently on this one farm I am pretty limited. Have to say I am still pretty disappointed by the way things worked out, not surprised, but disappointed. I did talk my way into getting them to take a look at one video of me getting started cutting with the tether system so hopefully that will work. It should as all the Timber Companies are pushing the industry in the no boots on the hill direction. Have to see. Good to hear from you, be safe!

Well Jason I hope this ain’t the end of your KZbin channel but like you said the property owner does not want no videos or pictures taken on his property and you have to respect that but after you get off of that job then you can go back to shooting your daily videos because they are a lot of us that likes to watch your videos of you cutting so until the next video brother you stay safe out there and we’ll see you on your next one

The rates are unrealistic in the face of the rise in costs of everything. And fresh good help is not available. I know I sound old, hell, I am old but kids don't know how or have the desire to work the way Logging requires. Good talking with you.

I sure hope wayerhaeuser stays out of Washington state. They sound like a real wet blanket to the industry from what ive heard of them. For sure when it comes to public interest anyway

I'm not quite sure if you message came through the way you wanted. But I think I hear what you are saying. The whole thing with our channel is certainly disappointing, but it's really more about Big Corporations and the Lawyers that run them than about Weyco in particular. Basically eliminating any type of liability is the name of the game in all the big businesses of the world today, and with that attitude nothing else can really be considered. It's unfortunate, but a reality. With that being said, I actually feel that Weyco, for example, does a really outstanding job of protecting the resources the public wants protected, growing timber and ensuring that their best timberland remains as that. I've always been an independent minded person, as another logger no doubt you are the same, so working within the rules of corporate structure isn't easy for me. But another reality of the industry is that in the US the big blocks of timberland necessary for progressive, high production logging are owned by corporations. They own the sandbox, so they get to make the rules. Not saying that it rests easy on me all the time, it's just the way it is. Thanks for the comment, be safe out there!
