It's BACK! Volvo 242 V8

Finally the V8 Volvo lives again!
After 2.5 years of bodywork, widening the rear, fatter tires, and a new paint, its back in business!
This is the first run this year with some testing and fun. Trackdays will have to wait until next year. Still some fixing to do..

Looks like it performs VERY well! I’d be interested to know what cam you’re running. As I understand it, ITBs don’t like overlap or tight lobe separation angles. Also, do the filters impact performance?

@@volvospede In the videos I have here on youtube, its modified shortyheaders, some cutting and welding were done to make it fit. Nowadays its longtube headers on it, bought a pair that I believed I could work on. Its a tight fit, but after some mods I finally have longtube headers on it!

@@Ragnar242 Ok thanks. I have shorty volvo headers i bought from Persåkers 25 years ago. Some day they will be rusted out, so I 'm just looking for options. And longtubes would be best. Do you remember part number of the headers you bought?

@@volvospede Ok, yeah the shortyheaders are of course the easier way to go. If you want longtube headers, be prepared for alot of work.. the driverside I had to cut off 3 pipes and heat-bend the last pipe till it would fit, then build 3 new pipes to the collector. And then rebuild the steeringshaft with a 3rd joint to go around the header. Plus some more fabrication on the car.. I went with schoenfeld headers, 1309-3
